    Peter Running His Mouth

    "BOXING BUZZ
    Peter Camp Targets Toney
Dino Duva, promoter of red-hot heavyweight Samuel “The Nigerian Nightmare” Peter, says he is outraged by the post-fight conduct and comments of new WBA Heavyweight boss James Toney and claims he has just the thing to finally shut his mouth. “Although he beat him fair and square, James Toney is a classless punk for the way he disrespected my friend and class act Johnny Ruiz after the fight,” said Duva. “If he has any balls, he will fight the top contender, Samuel Peter next, but I doubt he has the balls. If he did get in the ring with Samuel, it would give me great pleasure to watch Sam beat the hell out of him.” Peter further solidified himself as the top young heavyweight with a devastating knockout of usually durable Gilbert Martinez on Friday Night Fights last week, a day before Toney’s title-winning effort over John Ruiz. “What was his quote? Anybody, anywhere, any time? Let’s see if he really means that,” said Peter manager Ivalyo Gotzev. “Write this down,” said Duva. “I am prepared to make a very lucrative offer to James Toney and his promoters to face Samuel Peter.” If you don’t hear James Toney talking about facing Sam Peter in the next few weeks, it’s because he’s scared, just like the punk that he really is.”

it's going to be very difficult for peter against guys like toney and bryd, he dosn't appear to have quick hands, and he appears easy to hit, i would however like to see someone humble toney, and peter certaintly appers to have a big punch

How does a win against Jeremy Williams and Gilbert Martinez qualify Sam Peters for a shot at the title???? Why don't they just call out Vitali and Tyson like everybody else??

Peter needs to fight the winner of the Williamson vs Jefferson match or Wladmir or possibly if he's really lucky the winner of Brewster vs Golota.

He has definitly not earned a shot at one the top three boxers in the division.

I doubt a 36yr old Toney would even give a young powerful heavyweight like Peter a shot.At this stage in Toney's career,he'd rather fight a dead Mike Tyson than Peter, because there wont be much money in fighting the dangerous Peter like there would be if he fights Tyson.

Peter is going to have a tough night against a guy like Toney. The fact that Toney can take a punch will only serve to frustrate Peter late in the fight allowing Toney to get in more and more combos as the fight progresses... further frustrating Peter. Of course he always has a punchers chance, which is a pretty good out to have in this division.

As many noted on this thread, Peter has a punch (does he have a chin?) but I think he'll go down as one of the great overhyped fighters of his day that people will dismiss...

Toney has skill, something Peter doesn't. He was sloppy against Martinez, only looking for the KO punch. He can't pull that kind of **** against Toney, besides Peter will tire himself out with those inaccurate wild punching, then James comes in and its "lights out". Toney is a hall of famer, all that Peter has is power, which yet needs to be tested against an acutal opponent.
