I've just reviewed every Leonard fight and

This is a pretty good post that I agree with for the most part. I think I factor skills...

Offense, Defense, Stamina, Chin, Smarts, Speed, Reflexes, Footwork, Ring Generalship, and Technique.

Thats Mayweather Jr...he literally combines ALL of that.

Don't get me wrong, Floyd's skills are great, but knowing what he could do versus what he has done after moving to welter, well, it ain't helping his resume at all.

IMO, Floyd gets flack not because of what he does in the ring, its the frustration of fans hearing him talk a big game and not deliver.

His skills are comparable to ATG's but his resume just makes comparing him to ATG's a farce, a few good names and he would be treated better.

Ray has big names on his list but were those names in there primes when he fought them? Hearns YES...Even though his best was at 154

Duran - Ray himself said it was to much controversy. He wasn't dominating that fight like ppl think and he was running around the ring barely even punching. Big name on the resume but to much controversy. Peak vs Peak Duran beat him

Hagler - He looked old and slow in the Mugabi fight and that's why Ray fought him. Ray wasn't all that quick in there fight. Hagler was just slow

What Terry Norris did to SRL in 1991 would have happened had Ray tested himself against a young fighter with speed in 1987, 1988, 1989. The layoff didnt affect him as much against Hagler because he was also older, inactive for a while and was extremely slow in that fight.

I beg to differ, Ray completely dominated Duran in the second fight. I've watched it 2 minutes ago, now listening to the post fight and Duran saying what he eat prior to the fight, funny stuff hahahaha. Now if you ask me if Leonard "ran" during the fight,yes he did but i was called "finess" back in the day and people didn't boo it, they cheered for it.

Also as a funny note:
Interviewer- Leonard, would you fight Duran again? Ever?
Leonard- No.

Floyd would be killed if he answer No to a question like that. Jesus **** actually got worse for good fighters!

Let me tell you, this guy is good but he has nothing on Floyd Mayweather Jr, nothing. Floyd is incredibly good, even when compared with Leonard. Speed, accuracy and tatics, Floyd is incredibly good all around. When he's gone people will start to notice that when 10 years go by and no one like him comes along.

Nothing? Come on man. Have you checked the level of opposition? I'm not even convinced yet that the Pbf of old is back. The marquez fight did not do it for me. He has all the advantages in that one. As soon as he gets in with another good fighter ( please not matthew hatton, alvarez, paulie ... I'd settle for even just Bradley ) and dominate, then I could get a better guage of his skills now.

IMO, he did ran but it can be forgiven because he went toe-to-toe with him on the first fight. He had to adjust to get the win. The closest parallel ( and the only parallel) I can use this with Pbf is Castillo. And Castillo is no Duran.

Yes Floyd is getting old, since he was 30 people have been queuing up to fight him because Floyd's output is lower and lower despite the timing and skills still being there. Happens to everyone, Floyd will eventually lose. I just hope he manages his cash well enough so we don't end up seeing sad sad stuff from him ala Tyson....

It's allot more complicated than that today. There's pride, money, drugs (new), fear and all the usual troubles with huge promotions in making a big fight. think of it has a major company merge.
Leonard was still on free TV, he didn't have to worry so much.
