If im honest i enjoyed this more than Arguello vs Pryor, probably because i could not hear the commentary for Arguello vs Pryor.
...not physically, but mentally...I think Kim dying was on his mind whenever he started working someone over...he wasn't the "finisher" he was before Kim...the people around him mentioned it when asked about it...but killing someone will affect most of us, unless you don't have a conscious...

Livingstone Bramble was a real ******* calling Mancini a murderer before their fights... Trash talking like that crosses the line big time, imo.

...Bramble caught Mancini after the fact and then Bramble "punked" against Rosario who then was KO'd by Chavez...I think Mancini would have been dominant for a lot of years if not for the Du Koo Kim accident...

Yeah that to. I dont think Mancini was to blame though, if it was not him it prolly would of been someone else, a bit like how McClellan may still have ended up the way he is.

I haven't seen the whole fight but I've seen highlights from it. Total war from what I saw. It was sad to see Kim's face all swollen up like a balloon toward the end of the fight and how he collapsed at the end.

Also tragic how both the ref for the fight and Kim's mother both ended up committing suicide after the fight/death.

Kim was unbelievably tough that day, Manchini was a beast up until then, but he was never the same after that, he was pretty badly hit when Kim's mother killed herself from what I hear.

It wasn't long after his older more talented (according to ray) brother was killed in a freak accident.

Yeah I saw it. I downloaded it off the myp2p forum. The ref committed suicide because of the death.

I think the fight was one of the reasons they started doing 12rds instead of 15.

my uncle has an old tape of it, i saw it, and my god watta fight, niether was backing down, war all ut, blow for blow.

i think the only reason it didnt win FOTY was because of Kims death
That fight appeared on network television and I saw it live on television. Even though I was very young at the time, I knew what I was seeing was not a good thing and it really bothered me to see the Korean guy take such a beating.

I watched it knowing the outcome cause i read somewhere that it was the reason fights are only 12 rounds now. There was no way you could have stopped that fight, Kim kept fighting on, but just wasn't a knockout puncher.

Someone had a great quote i don't remember it exactly or who said it but it was brilliant something along the lines of

"after that fight you never saw BOOM BOOM MANCINI, maybe a Boom, but never a BOOM BOOM"

hopefully i didn't mangle it too much, maybe someone could post the actual quote, its quite touching and sums it up pretty well.
