Will a 144lb catchweight weaken Clottey??

Would this supposed catchweight affect Clottey's body enough for Pacquiao to capitalise? Would it give Manny an unfair advantage?

Apparently Joshua hasn't made 144 since 1997, when he decisioned Mark Ramsey, a fighter with a record of 13-11-2, over eight rounds.

Known to be a big welterweight who has been troubled, at times, with making weight, Clottey has weighed more than 147 pounds for bouts 11 times during his career, twice, at 154.

    What's the opinion's of Boxingscene?

Clottey can barely make 147 Pounds. Yet Pac wants to fight him. They'll make Clottey fight at 145 or 146. Then the Pac fans will say its just ONE pound. Anything less then 147..Isa clear ***** move.

Lets wait and see, WW should be fighting at 147 no restriction especially when a belt is on the line. A boxer shouldnt be making his own rules.

True, plus Arum and Roach has come out and said 147. Even Clottey manager said it is at 147. They know the backlash they will get if they make it a catchweight... I don't get why jump on every little negative thing about each fighter without for a fact if it is going to happen or not...

I doubt it could even be at a catchweight anyway, as I seriously doubt Clottey could make anything less than 147.

But it's good news it's at 147, no excuses win or lose.

The contracts aren't signed. The catch weight will be inserted when Pac arrives in america.
