both sides made demands the other side didnt want. Neither wanted to give in. The result? Total failure. I will not argue which side is more to blame. The bottom line is that because of both side's non negotiable stance, the fight is off. So the failure should be blamed to all. As far as the journalists are concerned, it doesnt help any if they concoct stories that are based on rumors and conjectures, like those mentioned in the article.

      cheating with the roach

WHAT BOXERS HAVE BEEN CAUGHT USING STEROIDS DURING THERE PROFESSIONAL CAREERS?

      SEVERAL COME TO MIND

      SHANE MOSLEY
JAMES TONEY( twice - Ruiz fight and Batchelder fight)

BOTH HAVE PROVEN TO HAVE USE STEROIDS

GOING FOWARD IN CASE YOU GUY'S FORGOT FREDDIE ROACH WAS JAMES TONEY TRAINER AT THE TIME HE WAS CAUGHT USING STEROIDS AND GUESS WHAT HE WAS AWARE OF IT! ( Trainer Freddie Roach said, "The Ruiz fight, James was coming off an injury and we didn't have enough time for it to completely heal. He wasn't at one-hundred percent. The steroids didn't seem to affect him at all, we didn't even know it was still in his system for that fight. James was just himself in the Ruiz fight. His boxing ability won him the fight.)

        Hooray for Mayweather

I really respect Mayweather for trying to change the sport of boxing. Him wanting random blood testing for boxers really is admirable. I'm so glad that eventhough this fight with Pac is off, he will continue to have random blood testing done in all his fights and all the fighters that are signed up with Mayweather Promotions. Hmm, I will feel devastated if he doesn't do this because then it will make me think that he really didnt want to change boxing but he had an agenda. Say it isn't so Floyd!

Team May will be forced to do so, otherwise it will be contradicting themselves again.

They will do this for consistency....

These blood test are just a cop out excuse.. Floyd dont want nothing to do with Pacquiao. END OF STORY..

                great article.....

there may be no winners, but there surely are losers....

                US, the boxing fans.....

i think the last line summed up the article best...."Instead of being remembered for what they did, Mayweather and Pacquiao will be remembered for what they didn't."

the burden of proof is on the mayweathers & golden boy promotions. they made the accusations, they have to come up with evidence & not by word of mouth only. manny has only to abide by the nevada boxing commission's mandatory requisites of any fight. as to floyd jr. covering for floyd sr., they can kiss & lick their behind to clean up their mess.

Props to Floyd for exposing the dirt that is ALLOWED to go on in the sport of boxing. If anything, the Nevada commission should ATLEAST implement the right perform a random blood and urine test, all the way up to the fight night! For all matches. Not that they would actually perform the test, but have the right to. Atleast this would be a deterrent for dirty fighters. This 40 year old out dated "pee peeing in a cup" is laughable!

                      It is no wonder.

It is no wonder that the biggest fight featuring the biggest talents, the biggest stars, became the biggest disappointment, the biggest embarrassment, all as a result of the biggest egos.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao had a mandate – fight each other. Put the two best boxers, pound-for-pound, in the same ring. See who is better.

They could do it for pride. How often do two of the best fighters in a weight class face each other, much less two of the best fighters in the sport?

They could do it for money. Mayweather, in his past three pay-per-view appearances, had buy rates of 2.44 million (Oscar De La Hoya), 920,000 (Ricky Hatton) and 1 million (Juan Manuel Marquez). Pacquiao, in his past three pay-per-view appearances, had buy rates of 1.25 million (De La Hoya), 850,000 (Hatton), and 1.25 million (Miguel Cotto).

At best, Mayweather-Pacquiao could break records and make millions upon millions. At worst, everyone involved would still make millions upon millions.

It was too big to fail.

                      They found a way.

For once, it wasn’t about money. They had agreed on who would get paid more – it would be a 50-50 split.

                      It was about pride.

Mayweather wanted Pacquiao to be tested for performance enhancing drugs. He wanted the tests to be more stringent than any done in boxing, beyond the normal urine tests. He wanted blood drawn, and he wanted the testing to be done randomly, unscheduled. [Click Here To Read More]

it was accusations first, extra drug test demands second, that is what killed it. i'm next to a 100% sure that the fight would've went off with just a little speed bump with all this, had the test been brought up first before the parties involved started saying pacquiao was on roids, hgh, and ped's, and going full blown public with their speculation as factual evidence, then floyd demanding these extra test, no bueno, it was dead from that moment on.
had it been the reverse things would be different, pacquiao's side might have been more willing, or there would be a legit concern if he was taking something and more than likely they would've been able to have the commission take a deeper look. they just put the cart before the horse in their fight promotion and it went terribly south.
