Yeah I agree not yet, but what about if he beats Clottey in spectacular fashion and if He fights and beats Mosley in spectacular fashion? Even then, Im not saying he will but his popularity in the state will be crazy.

BTW again I'm saying he has now, will then or ever will; I'm just posing the question to gets peoples opinion on how Pacquiao's success and star potential.
What you're overlooking is that Oscar not only brought the fans to the ring but his good looks and nice guy persona brought tons of ladies all over the place. Plus he had the Gold medal story grabbing the attention of the world. Nobody is coming close to Oscar's popularity for a very long time.

Yes!!! I dont get De la Hoya's popularity in a way, He seem to be well-known in America but he doesnt really mean much to people around the world to be honest, Pac and Mayweather seem to be more well-known around the world than De la hoya Even Prince Naseem Hamed was better known in the world than De la Hoya.

Nope, and his PPV numbers with Clottey will prove so. I say 300k.

No, I doubt he ever reaches Oscar's popularity.
If he could beat PBF maybe, Because everyone waiting for him a to Fail.
It would go down in history, and catapult him to GOD status.

While his fight with Clottey might do big, I think both his fights with Shane and Toney both do atleast 1.5 million buys each.

BTW I know I'm jumping the gun and a lot depends on how good he continues to look but I really see this happening.
                  So why are you asking?

Dude, he is losing fans not gaining them right now. He will never be as popular as De la hoya.

Exactly like Amir khan in the UK atm. 60% of 10,000 were females in Amirs fight against Andreas kotelnik. Not to mention he got a silver medal in olympics. So in the near future it could be khan. Every1 in UK knows who he is and nearly every1 in pakistan is getting to know him 2. America is next.
