Only problem with that is it will probably be on 2 separate ppv's. If only we could get the fights on network tv.

HBO needs PAC more than he needs them.

This is ridiculous Pac-man is taking on a BEAST like Clottey and Mayweather gets Mathew Hatton(give me a break,HBO wouldn't LET Gatti fight Mathew for his last fight beacausethey thought it would be a mismatch for gatti) but now the lb for lb best is being considered along with Paulie(powder punch)Malinaggi, the guy who Cotto gave reconstructive surgery and made faint after the fight and who Hatton knocked BEAT AS BAD AS ANYONE HE'S EVER BEAT!!Mayrunner WOULD NEVER GET IN WITH CLOTTEY he 's a theif in boxing HBO should void both these bums.

Thats exactly why they (the promoters) are going to do it this way... because they don't have the real thing, they are still making it FMJ vs Pac but only making it PPV vs PPV. Nobody kid themselves about that. They will say the fans have spoken by whoever gets the higher PPV sales. Sad, very sad. We are becoming the pawns in this greedy, greedy promoters game.

One could argue that boxing is behind as far as doping tests are concerned, i tend to agree with that. However, there should be a centralized body that should oversee the consistency and quality of testing and it should be properly vetted out by experts in sports medicine e.g. whether its a combination of urine and blood thats best for professional boxing. I don't like the knee jerk type that Mayweather is asking just because he has suddenly connected with his inner olympic spirit self.

Definitely, Pacquiao will not adhere to giving in to a Group which is "not a paragon of virtues" - Mayweather Camp that continues to hug the limelight - for all the wrong reasons (run-ins with the law, tax problems, etc) and GBP which has a history of fighters ducking blood tests (and now trying to act like angels . . oh yeah, more like angels of dis-information and dirty tactics). In fairness, Arum and Camp Pacquiao have their own negative points as well, however, what we want to point out e.g. whoever has not sinned/erred, let him cast the first stone? (so although, the idea of asking blood test sounds chivalrous . . but, if you do it at the same time, insinuate by going to various media outlets to claim that Pac is into something . . that smacks pure hypocrisy! which is un-acceptable . . and thats probably why Pacquiao strengthened his position not to give in to these two timers)

Its unfortunate we always get excuses from those of the opposite side - - (a) Pacquiao is fighting washed up fighters . . next (b) Pacquiao the catch weight king . . . when, these two wouldn't fly, even if these people shouted to the ends of the earth . . they, instantly rode on the (c) Pac must be on the roids. WOW, from dismissing Pacquiao's performance as so-so . . to saying, "his hitting guys with a strength of a mule" . . same excuse, Delahoya was making "i thought pacquiao was fast, but he did'nt hit strong . . to suddenly, changing the music to claim that Pac hits like Mosley".

So guys, the majority of the boxing fans and mainstream people will not buy in to your crap (check the various websites and its overwhelming to Pac's favor between 70%-90%). Lets see how the PPV of Mayweather stacks up moving forward (i.e. the only reason people watch him vs the bulk-slow moving Marquez, was a possible preview against Pac) . . bet Mayweather's future numbers will not come close to Pac Monster, thats for sure!
Great Post. However, with that said... with it now becoming PPV (FMJ) vs PPV (Pac) I believe FMJ will realize that his #'s with Paulie or Matthew would be a gamble. I think (or would hope) he would surprise everyone and announce Tim Bradley as the opponent (or Martinez/PW). I wouldn't put it past Mayweather team to shock everyone and try to steal Margorito from the Pac undercard and fight him himself. Then, with people leary about Margarito but really wanting to see how he makes his first come back, FMJ could say "Now I've beaten that cheater...."
I do believe that both teams promoters realized early on that they could/would make even more #'s waiting until the end of the year, hyping the drama. Could even be in 2011 now if both sides bid on winner of Mosely/Berto. My question would be, with FMJ being all about the $$$ why he wouldn't have agreed to fighting in Dallas where the gate purse could be up to 100,000 vs Nevada at 19,000(?). Do you believe that it is really because of the hand issue? Interesting how much more money they could bring in on the gate purse which FMJ quotes his are better than other boxers all the time. I suppose that could be another reason Arum is pushing through with the Dallas stadium, more gate purse to make up for any possible lack of PPV buys.

This is a good post. We must remember however, that the blood testing issue would not have been blown so out of proportion had Arum and Team Pacquiao -- from the start of negotiations -- refused to allow an outside testing agency to conduct the testing for this fight.

It was only after things were heating up in the media with the cutoff dates that they finally decided the NSAC as being the best and only agency to be used for testing.

Both sides share the blame for the way things turned out, though.

Who's the cheater now? Who's using PEDs now? Floyd is indeed a freak of nature...a hypocrite chicken duck! lol

he wont be in any exciting fights because he is just better than everyone....

when he beats Pac they will say...."oh Pac was blood drained and too small and he outboxed him and was afraid to stand toe to toe"

when he beats Mosley they will say " oh Mosley was too old and Mayweather was soo defensive he made the fight boring"

so 2 guys beating the hell out of each other is exciting? but a guy beating the other guy to the punch all night & not getting hit in return isnt?

so basically your saying someone who is soo great at boxing that he can easily beat everyone without getting hit back is bad for boxing?>

Thats like saying Lebron & Kobe are boring because they are just soooo much better than everyone else in the NBA that they make it look easy....
