floyd will probably not fight anyone ranked in the top five in his division or the division above.

boxing would have its mega fight if for whatever reason pac was not avoiding random blood testing.

at least pac will get into the ring with someone worthy (joshua clottey) but maybe pac should take on an easier opponent as well.

his last three fights have been big events (with hard training camps) pac may need a gimme fight because a fight with clottey is a guranteed hard work for 12 rounds

Win or lose, will you still respect Manny for taking the chance and stepping in again with another tough fighter in Clottey? Mayweather will not fight anyone in the top 5 of the welterweight division. He will probably look at the Mosley and Berto fight and if he sees that Mosley has a tough time with Berto but still wins, only then will he accept that fight...and why? Not because he want's to be great and fight the best version of Mosley, but it's because he was waiting to see some cracks in the armor before taking a chance.

This is what Mayweather does, he looks for moments and opportunities that are advantageous to him not losing that coveted "0", not moments that define greatness.
you quoted me. did you stop reading after i said "boxing would have its mega fight if for whatever reason pac was not avoiding random blood testing."

because in the rest of my response i already wrote how i felt about pac and his choice of opponent.

and pretty obvious which path floyd will more likely take (path of least resistance)

Absolutely, it appears to be his modus operandi.

Thats my stance and i hope that would be HBO's stance as well, HBO shouldnt support either fight so let them go ahead and put it on PPV themselves, Am fed up with the dramatic way they both handle the negotiation for their fight **** them both.

BoxingFan, why not ask Floyd if Xylocaine is his favorite numbing agent? It's a banned substance in 49 States, except Nevada. No wonder Floyd only fights in Vegas. Pac, on the other hand, can fight in any of the 50 States (or anywhere in the world) coz he's clean.

Who's the cheater now? Who's using PEDs now? Floyd is indeed a freak of nature...a hypocrite chicken duck! lol

Pac and his team always indicated, whatever is required by the boxing commission or boxing authorities, they will abide. One could argue that boxing is behind as far as doping tests are concerned, i tend to agree with that. However, there should be a centralized body that should oversee the consistency and quality of testing and it should be properly vetted out by experts in sports medicine e.g. whether its a combination of urine and blood thats best for professional boxing. I don't like the knee jerk type that Mayweather is asking just because he has suddenly connected with his inner olympic spirit self.

Definitely, Pacquiao will not adhere to giving in to a Group which is "not a paragon of virtues" - Mayweather Camp that continues to hug the limelight - for all the wrong reasons (run-ins with the law, tax problems, etc) and GBP which has a history of fighters ducking blood tests (and now trying to act like angels . . oh yeah, more like angels of dis-information and dirty tactics). In fairness, Arum and Camp Pacquiao have their own negative points as well, however, what we want to point out e.g. whoever has not sinned/erred, let him cast the first stone? (so although, the idea of asking blood test sounds chivalrous . . but, if you do it at the same time, insinuate by going to various media outlets to claim that Pac is into something . . that smacks pure hypocrisy! which is un-acceptable . . and thats probably why Pacquiao strengthened his position not to give in to these two timers)

Its unfortunate we always get excuses from those of the opposite side - - (a) Pacquiao is fighting washed up fighters . . next (b) Pacquiao the catch weight king . . . when, these two wouldn't fly, even if these people shouted to the ends of the earth . . they, instantly rode on the (c) Pac must be on the roids. WOW, from dismissing Pacquiao's performance as so-so . . to saying, "his hitting guys with a strength of a mule" . . same excuse, Delahoya was making "i thought pacquiao was fast, but he did'nt hit strong . . to suddenly, changing the music to claim that Pac hits like Mosley".

So guys, the majority of the boxing fans and mainstream people will not buy in to your crap (check the various websites and its overwhelming to Pac's favor between 70%-90%). Lets see how the PPV of Mayweather stacks up moving forward (i.e. the only reason people watch him vs the bulk-slow moving Marquez, was a possible preview against Pac) . . bet Mayweather's future numbers will not come close to Pac Monster, thats for sure!
                Well said.. very good post...

this article is garbage.when its all said and done if the fight happens they will agree on the 50-50 split just like the first attempt.all this none sense about ppv sales don't mean ****.they've agreed on the money and weight.the drug testing was the problem so actually the fight was 80% done.

                    Bob Arum on Mayweather:

“Floyd is the best fighter i’ve seen in 40 years other than the young Muhammad Ali, there are a number of aspects that make a great fighter. One is speed. His speed is phenomenal. The way he throws punches, phenomenal. The way he is conditioned, phenomenal. I mean, he’s the entire whole package. And beside all of those skills he’s the most intelligent fighter that I have ever seen. I mean, Floyd, this is no bull****; Floyd can see a punch coming before the other guy knows he’s going to throw it. Do you understand that? I mean, I have never seen such ring intelligence that Floyd demonstrates. And so he’s the whole package, and you know, Ray Leonard was a great fighter, Marvin Hagler was a great fighter, Duran certainly was great, Oscar had a couple of years where he was very good, but there’s nobody that is a whole package like Floyd.”
