UPDATE: AP scribe Greg Beachman just reported that Floyd Mayweather says he's still ready to sign to fight Manny Pacquiao, that he answered a 24-day before the fight blood test offer with a demand for a 14-day before blood exam.
Promoter Bob Arum says it is true that Mayweather requested a two weeks before blood test but "I'm done with this fight for now."
Don’t you think someone, anyone, should tell befuddles Team Mayweather that the mediator’s muzzle is off?
It appears that L’il Floyd representatives think the Daniel Weinstein gag order is still in effect leading to a new expression, silence is Golden, Boys.
I tried running this by Manny Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum Thursday but with the Pacman-Mayweather bout in which each fighter may have earned $40 million in the breakdown lane he was in no mood for merriment.
I did ask him why he thought advisers Al Haymon, Leonard Ellerbe and (Golden Boy CEO) Richie Rich Schaefer was as quiet as monks at prayer time.
“What can they say?” Arum barked. “The fight is off so can they say their guy is a straight up coward? They can’t say much else.”

Wednesday, as a single day, makes a good summary of the entire whacky negotiations between the camps. Arum wouldn’t speak further on the subject, other than voice his complete frustration, but others with knowledge of the circumstances did.
“Everything came down to a compromise,” one man said. “If Mayweather and the other apologized for the Pacman using drugs allegations, then Manny’s lawsuit would be dropped. Anyone who did not apologize would remain a defendant.

“On their side, Manny’s camp moved from a 30 day preflight blood test to 24 days before the fight. The two sides spoke informally to the Nevada commission and they agreed to enforce the agreement between the camps. There was scientific, medical information that said this time frame plus the post fight blood test would protect Mayweather.
(Here, Marley inquries, did they all get this idea from my Dec. 29 column which suggested a prefight blood test 21 days before the bout? Just asking.)
“Mediator Weinstein was on the phone constantly Wednesday with both sides. There was a 12 noon deadline and they pushed it to 3 o’clock. Weinstein then said major progress had been made.
“Weinstein was saying, ‘We are 90 percent of the way there.’ The deadline was pushed to 9 p.m. Pacific time. Finally, the mediator called Arum between 7 to 8 o’clock after speaking to Haymon and Schaefer and told Arum, ‘I’ve got bad news.”
Despite persistent reports that Haymon and Schaefer openly disagreed with their fighter and told him to accept the 24-day preflight blood test, I for one don’t believe that part of the saga.
These guys aren’t dummies, they would never show their hand like that to the opposition even if they did disagree with Floyd. And Ellerbe always goes along with Floyd.”

One PPV TV network said Thurday they got a heads up to keep a March 20 date open for Floyd versus Manny.
It could still happen but, if it’s going to, something must give this weekend.
Finally, I do not believe Mayweather to be a chicken. I see him more as a capon or as a duck, yeah that's it a bloody duck.
You must admit, KFC meaning Kentucky Floyd Chicken is some amusing pollo.
Poor 'Lil Floyd is gonna get bashed for the longest time.
