This fat ass gets a fight on tv where he can showcase what he has and impress people, so what does he do? Come in at 250. Un****ingbelievable.
    Good point!

Rocky Marciano was one of them. Sam is raw now, but he is learning new things with every fight and time is on his side. Also let's not forget that he WON tonight by a stoppage in the third round. You act as if he had been taken the distance or received a gift decision.
The biggest difference between young Marciano and young Peter is dedication to their sport, and conditioning. Marciano never showed up to a fight with a round, cherubic face and a 40" waistline. Sure, Peter's a stout kid, but he's also a fat kid. I think he needs to lose alot more than 10 pounds...more like 20 to 25. It's easy to see that the kid has some natural talent, and great power, but I'll never be a fan until he gets his fat, lazy ass into the gym and gets himself prepared to go a minimum of 10 rounds at a decent work rate. In his present condition, I don't see him lasting more than 5 or 6 rounds against anyone in the top 10. And I agree with Mesi. Either one of the Klitchko's would lay waste to Peter right now. On the other hand, a well conditioned Peter, with another half dozen fights under his belt, could prove serious and legitimate competition for either.

Also...he's only 24 years old, and already looks like he does....what's he going to look like in another 5 years, if he doesn't seriously reconsider his training routines? ROADWORK, Peter, you lazy *****...roadwork.

Peter looked a bit more impressive in his victory against Diaz than last night. This guy Martinez is a joke, how dare they parade this fat tub in the ring. Peter should be ashamed that he even accepted fighting this waste of space. I think at this stage if Peter fought either Calvin Brock or Leo Nolan, that Peter would have a very difficult time. Peter has way too many flaws in his repetoire. His power will bail him out and make him look indestructable but he will be exposed eventually. He gets in with a guy like Tua or Tyson I think either one of them knocks Peter out.

I've only seen three Peter fights.

Each fight I thought he looked exactly like a heavyy-footed version of Trevor Berbick.

Not that I have anything against Sam Peter but did anyone else notice that he seemed to be gasping for air in the interview after the fight, when he was holding his daughter? I agree that he needs to lose some weight.

I saw his fight yesterday and just like somebody else said, he has way too many flaws. No jab whatsoever, smoother his punches a lot, does not have much defense and his stamina is questionable. Did he have any amatuer career? Because some of the mistakes that he deed are usually a preregotive of people with little to none amateur experience.
But, he is young, he has a lot to learn and a lot of weight to drop. If he learns to use his jab, be more accurate and economical with his punches and learn to pace himself he might be the force.

I think that if he gets better technically and they bring him along slowly he can be champ in the future.

Although I do not feel like Peter is the best boxer in the world. I have to say that he is not doing too bad ...... and keep in mind he is STILL in his 20s. That is very young for a heavyweight. He still has 10 to 15 years to prove himself.
