when did they come to Europe to take their beating? in fact by my reckoning the first time Jones Jr. left the US he was knocked out.

I can smell Frank's bitterness ......boxers make the promoters but the promoters are ALWAYS saying otherwise......when will these promoters understand that we the fans can give a dam about what the dude in the suit and tie says.....we ONLY take the words of the guy who ACTUALLY laces up the gloves and puts his health and life at risk as bond, and NOT some blood sucking old business tycoons who smoke cuban cigars with stock holders.......the dude who bustes his ass in the gym and puts his life on the line is by far more admirable than some ****in' promoter.....Joe Calzaghe is by far one of the fighters I least like, I'm a B.Hop fan, what you expect ......but the dude has fought with ****ed up hands and STILL was whoopin' ass.....no major ass, but STILL outworking and out thinking dudes while nursing bad guns.....come on man!!.....props where props is due regardless!!

Well said. I have been clownin on Warren for a while for how much he runs his mouth. It's nice to see a little backlash against this kind of garbage. I think sometimes we as boxing fans get too caught up in the **** talk outside of the ring and it really takes the focus away from the people who have really committed their lives to the sport.

Sure they were. He won the title from Sonny Liston in America, and the Fight of the Century against Joe Frazier was also in America.

The idea that people now need to go to the USA to make a career is no longer valid. There was a time when the cream of the p4p crop came from the Us, which made it the mecca of boxing. That time is passed....boxing is now truly an international sport. Its the reason Wlad can make more money puttin on events in Switzerland than Vegas.

Very true, he headbutted him out of the fight. Kessler has never been headbutted out of a fight before.

You have a lot of hate for Calzaghe but he shat all over America's legends, beat Kessler legitimately (unlike Ward) and retired undefeated. Atg.

I agree. JC is artificial. He is the typical built, rather than made, fighter. Stamina and hand speed are the only good level traits he had. Accuracy? no, Power? no, Defense? no, Quality of competition? Low to average (being kind). When people try to make highlights of his career it's a comedy show all the time. I tried once. I gave up. No technically sound punches, no defense... It was horribly funny in a bad way, specially when you think how many people claim he's the best brit or the best SMW of all time (wtf?)
No beef though, anyone is free to be a fan of whoever they want. I'm not making hate threads of JC or any other fights (cept Pacquiao recently so i could prove a point to the *******s but i totally respect Pacquiao too and JC, all fighters in general)

joe calzaghe retired because hopkins went from 45 years old to 21 in the pavlik fight.. and the only meaningful bout for joe was a bhop rematch , he said " no thanks mate"
