    Robinson Elevators and Pacquiao blood

The whole blood issue with pac reminds me of Sugar Ray Robinson. Many didnt believe Robinson had a major fear of Elevators and claustrophobia. I cant remember the fight at the top of my head but he had to go numerous flights on stairs to get weighed the day of the fight and than went down the 20 plus floors by foot and than he actually fought in the same day and lost. Maybe someone remembers the number of flights and what fight it was?

Sonny Liston did fear needles very bad and that is why his wife dosent believe he died by a drug overdose since he hated needles. I don't think any blood should be drawn within 72 hours of the fight.

Zab Judah is actually terrified of shower doors, which is why he panicked when seeing one and punched his arm through it, thus canceling the Shane Mosley fight.

There are many rumors about his death. Some say he suffered from depression after losing to Ali twice and had an alcohol problem. The mafia angle was that some claim that he was ordered to throw the fight with Chuck Wepner due to ******** and he refused to lose and beat Wepner very bad. So bad that he even told his corner people "i am afraid of hitting this guy anymore i might kill him." Eventually the ref showed mercy and stopped the fight in RD9. The death of Sonny liston was covered in the show unsolved mysteries. Seeing some of his friends talk about him was sobering. They would say liston was a very private guy and didnt trust many.....but when you knew him he was one of the nicest people you would ever know."

It's too bad that Ali had to call him an ugly bear and he called Frazier a gorilla, and also called guys like patterson and Terell an uncle tom.

In what way? Because blood shouldnt be drawn in 72 hours before a fight? If random testing is done within a week of the fight you think pac would cycle off right before the fight? I had blood drawm about 8 hours ago and feel dizzy and lightheaded, i think a blood test 5 days before the fight and right after the fight would make it almost impossible for pac to take anything. He would have cycle off numerous times and possibly suffer side effects as adrenal insufficiency, low blood pressure, muscle pain, joint pain etc.

I think random tests until a week before the fight is more than enough.

Yeah, what a mystery. Ali was cruel boxer in a sense, he punished Patterson and Terell.

Trying to legitimize Pac's refusal to accept a RANDOM blood testing regimen by comparing it to SRR's (who's last fight was 40 years ago or better) alleged fear of elevators is reaching and pitiful. That is all.

                  Carry on.

not a real analogy just showing fighters do have fears. Robinson walked alot of stairs because he didnt want to take the elevator of the fight.

In fact, i never said that pac shouldnt take random blood tests, read my first posts in boxingscene and you see that i am far from a *******, but i dont think random blood testing is needed within 72 hours and there are urine tests that can pick up some masking agents.......to think that pac would stop and go with cycling many times is preposterous. That is why i said before that a compromise should be met.
