Yeah very interesting fight.
Except for the fact that Katsidis got knocked out by Casamayor and lost to Diaz, two men that got KO'd by Marquez. Marquez is at the end of his career and looking to cash out, and he's earned that. Katsidis would bring nowhere near the money that Hatton would, and also doesn't have the resume or star power to get people interested.

Think of it like this, fellas - Marquez is the king at 135, but likely wants big paydays at 140 to round off his career. But before he does that, why not take this fight (which we all know will be great; possibly even better than Marquez-Diaz, since both have legit KO power this time) as a sort of passing of the torch?
Katsidis has a chance to beat him and thus become the new king at 135... but Marquez could also end up successfully defending his title, which would allow him to bow out of the division with dignity whilst still at the top.
Doesn't that make the most sense? I mean, come on - Hatton is in no state to fight now (or possibly ever again), and Pacquiao's plans will likely never involve Marquez for a third time. This match-up has FOTY written all over it, and we all know both of these guys love to put on a show for the boxing fans.
If he can make a good payday fighting Kats, and he wants the fight, then by all means, make it happen.
