Frazier stood up for him but it was more so because he wanted to get Ali in the ring and beat him than anything else.

I'd say Foreman was actually more affected by Ali's taunts than Frazier who just used them as extra motivation. Frazier is bitter but Foreman himself does make the occasional outrageous excuse about why he lost to Ali. Ali really got into Foreman's head in Zaire and at the end had him convinced that he couldn't punch.

yeah,frazier wasnt up to par with ali mentally , so the only way he could get even was in the ring physically , frazier couldnt beleive that ali was calling him an uncle tom and that a lot of black people bought it when in reality frazier had a much harsher upbringing than ali and was one of the last people you could call an uncle tom.
