That won't end for a while even if the winner beat Joe how much credit could you give him against then 39 yr old Joe out of retirement?

True. It's the name value. Even Dawson almost isn't worth it (name opponent wise), and why risk a loss on a semi-established star?

He's better off waiting on somebody making a big splash than coming back right at this moment.

          He shouldve fought Chad Dawson.............

Beating a 40 Year old Roy Jones is a terrible way to cap your career.

Coming back and beating Chad Dawson would be his best win to date. He's legit and in his prime.

I wouldn't mind seeing him ***** slap Froch for 12 rounds just for the hell of it, but beating him would do sweet FA for his legacy.

A rematch with Hopkins wouldn't go a miss. Yes the first fight was crap but there's doubts over who won that, and beating him more convincingly in a rematch would go a long way even though both guys are close to rocking chairs and smoking pipes. Hopkins is still considered P4P one of the best fighters out there.

I'm out of ideas. Maybe fight Haye for the Heavyweight title?

Yeah, hypothetically if he came back I'd imagine him fighting a tune-up, then Dawson at the end of the year then the winner of the Super Six.

I doubt he's coming back though.

As for the credit they'd receive beating Joe, then it depends entirely on how Joe looks. If they beat him after he's coming off a win to Chad then that would be a great victory.

But then he will get older.....not everyone can be Hopkins. If he beats Dawson who I personally have a very high opinion of then all the credit in the world.

Joe was 36 don't try and make it seem like he was this youngster picking on an old man like so many on here do.

True, but he probably has less name recognition than Paul Williams. That's the issue I think Joe would have. He's pretty stuck. Not making the big bucks at the end made the journey into retirement an even easier choice at the time I bet as well.
