If his marketing strategy was to be loved rather than hated then his marketing strategy would differ from the one I laid out above. It would be a different strategy for sure.

i didn't say his strategy was to be loved.

he acts in a way that gets him hated to sell tickets and get press but he wants to be loved.

it's contradictory but that's how i see it.

however, i believe he's at a crucial point right now

he wants people to hate him for his antics outside the ring and his trash talking, but people are starting to hate on him for "ducking" elite competition and his snoozer style in the ring.... so he's almost at a stalemate

never in a million years would you expect floyd to talk UP his competition before a fight, the way he did Marquez....

The people who hate him still watch to see him get beaten though. He wins whether people love him or hate him and doesn't try and pretend to do it for the people like some other boxer(s).
