Hindsight always being 20-20 we can now say "yes, it could have been handled better." When they started talking about a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight, they should have asked, right off the bat, that they will agree to random blood test only with a minimum 3 days before the fight. But they trusted the Mayweathers to be fair. Now we know they can't even give them the benefit of the doubt. They treat boxing as a money war not as a sport.

But the lawsuit timing couldn't have come a better time. It was when Dela Hoya and Schaefer started throwing the accusations themselves that really did it. Pacquaio has been pushed too far and has now boiled over. You don't do that to a very patient man and expect just a smart-mouth statement.

From what we know though, the request for random blood test had been in the contract from the beginning, Arum and company simply chose to ignore it while focusing on all the concessions Pac wanted in the ring. Mayweather quickly said yes to all that and then said, what about my random blood test? Truth is, they expected a quick yes, not a fight or flight act of desperation.

Yes, now he'll face Yuri Foreman instead of that other best fighter in the world.

Pardon my limited information because I got my my only education on this issue from the University of Google. Maybe the Pac camp did know of this demand, but I wouldn't say it was on purpose just so to focus on their own demands. I'm sure they are a little smarter than that. If they were aware of the random tests from the get go and, at the start, said "Yes we'll do it." but had second thoughts later, that would tell me two things (after seeing the Pacquiao 2005 interview):

                  1. They were too quick to say yes because they knew they can pass with no problems.
                  2. They forgot about that 2005 Morales blood test and its effect on Manny.

Keep in mind this whole accusation was simmering already in the background since April when Floyd Sr started it all in an interview. Team Pacquiao tried acting cool and professional up till their negotiations the Floyd Camp but when everybody and his uncle jumped in, emotions ran so high that they probably got careless on the details.

The way things got so out-of-control after Team Pacquaio's refusal to do the anytime-anyhow nature of the tests just added fuel to the fire. So back to your question, I believe we can all agree that it could all have been handled another way but the heat of passion just defies reason most of the time and this time it is no different.

The tongue is so small but it is so powerful that it can destroy kingdoms. Too bad we were witnesses again to this sad fact right in the "sport" of boxing.

He and Freddie Roach are always asking for something to hamper the ability of the opponent. And I'm not even going to list them cause we already know what they are. IF this was Sugar Ray Leonard back in the 80s asking for ring, gloves, catchweights, etc... he'd be crucified and his victories such as those over Hagler and Lalonde would be criticized by those that claim he got the best of the negotiations.
thats one funny assertion boy, how many contracts have been made accessible to you and you have accessed in THIS ERA? well maybe im misunderstanding that, did you just say the only fighter you know?
