Comments Thread For: Juan Carlos Salgado-Takashi Uchiyama Clash on Jan 11

WBA super featherweight champion Juan Carlos Salgado (22-0-1, 16KOs) prepares to make the first defense of his title against unbeaten Takashi Uchiyama (13-0, 10KOs) of Japan. The fight will take place at the Tokyo Big Sight in Japan because Salgado owes options to Japanese promoter Akihiko Honda from his last fight. Salgado had a banner year in 2009. He pulled off the upset of the century with a first round demolition of top-rated Jorge Linares. [Click Here To Read More]

Better hope he doesn't get knocked out. This Japanese guy is no slouch. They come with short records and start kicking buts early over there.

The last robbery in Japan that really involves a foreign fighter was Jose Navarro against Kawashima back in 05 or 06. Japan has pretty decent judging besides those **** ass even rounds. They get the winner right though

Is this guy that Salgado is fighting any good? I know he's got a good record, but that doesn't say it all necessarily. Regardless you have to give Salgado credit for fighting in hostile environments.
