An incredibly one sided article. 'Arum a visionary!!!!!', utter nonsense. Less of the good old days stories and more realism please. The tests were in the contract from the start and two weeks later the 'visionary' starts giving out about them. The 'visionary' made some pretty unrealistic demands himself e.g. $10m per pound which the non-visionary agreed to in an instant. Was this written by the press agent of this so called 'visionary'. This same visionary managed to persuade a recognised ranking association give it's welterweight title away for a fight fought at a catchweight. Visionary, my ass!!! If this is the boxing world of the future where titles are given away at whatever weight the likes of Arum, Roach and Manny deem suitable for them then I'm switching to UFC.

2008-2009 good boxing years is a proof, boxing don't need Mayweather, because Mayweather is a coward and HBO sucks.
Don't get me wrong,if Mayweather was fighting the bests,if he was fightin Mosley,Margo,Williams and Sergio, then a crack at the middleweight crown vs Pavlik,he would be damn good for boxing.
But it's fantasy.
Now,Crackhead Sr,uncle Roger and Joy jr are back with their bull****s,BoxingScene forum is full of ****.
He was goin to fight an other blown up featherweight and I don't care casuals wanted to see it first.
If Mayweather don't fight Mosley and Williams next.He need to start a dancing career.
Remember Mayweather gets paid to be the "bad guy". He does his job very well especially in the ring, obviously.

If Bob Arum would have had his way, boxing fans would have been treated to a Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather, Jr. mega-fight at Jerry Jones’ Cowboys Stadium on March 13.
Bob Arum, you see, has vision.
But Arum, and the sport in which he operates, is now an every man for himself environment. [Click Here To Read More]
atleast Don King actually acted on his vision..Arum just talks..and claims he wanted Dallas..had Don King been involved, the fight would be signed and be held somewhere exotic, or atleast fresh!..both are pretty much crooked..but everyone...boxing fan or not knows Don King for a reason...no one outside of boxing knows Arum...vision..lol..DOA!

the problem is mayweather wants the most money and all the power. if he can't have both he will do everything to ruin the sport. he is threatened by a guy like pacquaio who is a better fighter and way more popular with the fans. pac man has a whole country supporting him and mayweather can barely get his family to support him. he ruined this fight with ridiculous demands that he had never demanded before and he is to blame. plain and simple.

You must be kidding! One example form the top of my head is the fact that Arum is the guy who kept his fighters from facing JM Marquez at Featerweight when the division was loaded with talent. In a proposed Featherweight fight, his terms were so absurd that it was it was obvious he was clearly trying to royally screw Marquez out of a fair payday thus killing the fight. His self-interest & propensity to protect his fighters from other top fighters that are not promoted by himself, is one of the reasons why boxing has gone down this slope. I have a hard time associating "Vision" with "Self-interest & keeping top fights from happening" because you want to protect your fighters. Due to great "Vision" you are refering to, boxing fans were screwed out of some dynamite Featherweight fights that would have been historic. thinking:.Last edited by Mr Reality; 01-02-2010, 01:26 PM.

I don't hate Mayweather himself,I don't know him personnaly.
I just hate his behaviour wich is maybe one of the most annoying and scandalous in the history of the sport.

What people need to understand is Mayweather gets paid to be the "bad guy", right now Pac is the one looking "bad". Not the other way around. We ALL know what Mayweather does to every fighter he faces (talks shyt), so why do people act all shocked now? Its expected, its drama, its promotion and it sells in every situation when Mayweather's name is involved. He is a salesman of boxing, like it or not.
Again, right or wrong Mayweather was not the selfish one. Pac is/was. If he would get over his feelings being hurt and "give in" and prove himself with these tests it would have ended everything and could of got the fight underway (outside of the courts). To me, that's being selfish regardless of team Mayweather being right or wrong.
Mayweather is playing games (as mentioned earlier it is expected). Why people don't understand this is beyond me. Mayweather is "bad" only for the good.
Pac just needs to accept that and make the fight, but as the writer explains fighters are becoming to selfish........
and I have no idea what the hell he was getting at about Don King.... I think he had an agenda to make Arum look good who knows.....
