T.K. Stewart I know you're a Pacquaio fan but at least try to maintain some objectivety. Afterall, you do call yourself a journalist. If you want to blame anyone for this fight not going down, blame Pacquaio. He's the one who doesn't want to take the random blood test. Try as you might you can't blame Mayweather for this. He, Mayweather agreed to all the terms and according to insiders even made some concessions. The only thing he and his camp wanted were random blood test that he , Mayweather, would have to submit to as well and to throw up a smoke screen here comes Pacquaio with this ridiculous lawsuit claiming the Mayweathers defamed him but yet he's entertaining a fight with Malignaggi. BTW, Malignaggi was one of the FIRST persons to accuse Pacquaio of using PEDs and who surprisingly Pacquaio is not suing. Talk about hypocrisy! The only thing Pacquaio has succeeded in doing is increasing su****ion of himself. This problem could be resolved by simply taking the test, if you're clean the test will demonstrate that and if you're the better fighter you'll beat Mayweather, PERIOD. Anything outside of that is people's opinions and speculation.

King has no one to blame but himself for his current situation, despite all he has done for boxing (I believe he has made close to 100 boxers millionaires or higher, but don't quote me).
This was a great article. Arum still has a grand vision, his sights were set on the Texas stadium as he knew it would have sold out in a matter of days. If this fight takes place in the fall, it will not have the same massive buzz and excitement it had just a few weeks ago. This fight could not have been built up anymore than it was in December. Alas.
There is no one to blame for this fight not happening but the Mayweather side.

- Not all of athletes in every sport are tested the same way Floyd wanted it. Pac offered NBA, NFL, MLB type testing. Why did Floyd declined? Hell, don't tell me all athletes from NBA, NFL, and MLB are all on drugs because they were not tested to Floyd standard!
- Negotiate? They did negotiate. First, they want drug testing. Pac came back and said, ok. Next they want want random. Pac came back and said as long as it is not close to the fight. Pac is even hinting 3 days random testing before the fight. What did Floyd do? "We stand by USADA test." That is plain BS and he is obviously avoiding the fight.

Pacquiao is not the one that asked for a test that has never been done before in the history of professional boxing.
Pacquiao is not the one that is trying to change the requirements & change commission rules for a boxing match to take place in las vegas nevada.
Not only is Pacquiao not the one doing the above things, HE actually agrees to the the above things but to a certain degree.
So Pac agree to a certain degree for tests that have never been required by any of fraudulent jr.'s opponents & nobody in the history of professional boxing, but Fraudulent jr. does not want to compromise?
Who is bieng the b*tch here & making the fight difficult?

I agree with the article. I also think that Mayweather has made some of his fights look easy though. Before he fights, there are countless number of people who actually think he'll lose. Most tune it to watch him lose. He will not be mentioned as great, but only the fighter that had the best skills.

Because they APPEAR THE MOST in their respective sports. The most casual of basketball fans will know MJ and Kobe. The most casual tennis fan will know Federer, Venus, and Serena. The most casual golfer will know Tiger. The most casual boxing fan(85% of fans from the phillipines) will know Pacman.
Why the **** do you think American Idol is so great? It's on ****ing fox. Not HBO. Why do you think WWE is so ****in popular even though everyone and their 90 year old grandmother knows its fake? Because it is on USA and WGN.
IF YOU MARKET TO THE MAINSTREAM YOU WILL GET MAINSTREAM ATTENTION.
If you continue showing fights only on HBO and Showtime. Only the people who know boxing will watch it. Do you think all those seats at the MGM are filled with hardcore boxing fans? NO. Why? Because they have a big ass sign out in Vegas, a big ass titantron, showing who is fighting. Along with their ****in 24/7 trailers.
If boxing goes to the mainstream. You get more popularity. Since it doesn't do that. It wont get **** in terms of popularity that the hardcore fans, boxers, and promoters want.
Dont get **** twisted. If you Market your product correctly. You will get what you want.

Good article. I was thinking Cowboys stadium would of been perfect for MayweatherVPacquiao and would of been like the Beatles Playing Yankee Stadium. But not only is there no CowBoy stadium, now there is no Fight. Sucks Balls i know, but what can we do? Both guys are to blame and Their excuses are becoming Tiresome and never seem to end. Oh well, this is not the first Fighter Mayweather has ducked someone, but i was surprised by PacMan not agreeing to the absurd tests, just to whip that azz. Arum and King were always shown as the Bad Guys, but they have put on some of the most memorable fights in history with the Greatest figters. Golden Boy has yet to convince me that they are better for Boxing and actually show to be more scandalous than either Arum or King. But Golden Boy did bring boxing to Houston with Juan Diaz, so i will not kill them for a lack of Vision, but Passing up on CowBoy Stadium was about as ****** as getting in HighHeels and then taking Pictures

If Bob Arum would have had his way, boxing fans would have been treated to a Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather, Jr. mega-fight at Jerry Jones’ Cowboys Stadium on March 13.
Bob Arum, you see, has vision.
But Arum, and the sport in which he operates, is now an every man for himself environment. As 2010 dawns, boxing has a myriad of competing self interests which means putting together a big fight also means appeasing every single group. Every whim, every desire, every nagging line of every contract has to be agreed to by every party - or there is no fight.
Boxing had a magnificent opportunity to eclipse the sporting world and to put itself on the front pages of newspapers and be the headline of sportscasts round the globe with a 2010 Pacquiao - Mayweather bout. But negotiations imploded because of unreasonable contractual demands by the fighters and those that call the shots for them.
Because of single-minded wants - the entire sport suffers.
There is plenty of blame and finger-pointing to go around in what has become the latest fiasco in the sport. What was going to be the most lucrative fight in boxing history looks now as though it may never happen. Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, who attempted to negotiate the Pacquiao fight on behalf of Mayweather, is pointing the finger of blame at Arum - and Arum is pointing his finger right back at Schaefer and Mayweather’s quasi-manager, the elusive Al Haymon.
