It looks like Kessler has taken it to easy in training and twice he has failed in making sufficient in-fight adjustments.

I dont know if Montoya is the man to take care of this. It'll be his big exam as well. If Kessler wins he'll get a ton of credit.
IMO Wlad's sucess has a lot to do with his size advantage aswell as the lack of non flat footed boxers who can move and punch. I don't think Manny Steward can improve him on that level, but he certainly can teach him a few good tricks. Manny picks up on certain things and can make Kessler a better figher, but Kessler is in a tougher division in terms of styles for him.

Interesting that he is always injured. Happens to most athletes though

Kessler is a good fighter, I like him, but him not listening to his trainer is what Cotto is doing, Prince Naz and many boxers who don't focus in traning because that's the most imporant thing.

Manny said he couldn't get Taylor to listen, so I don't know if he can get Kessler either.

Sidenote, do trainers get a standard fee or some more than others? He could do with a place like wildcard or kronk (think thats e stewards gym) for better sparring partners

I think trainers usually gets about 20% of he purse. Probably less when it's megabucks.

Manny made Wlad more careful in the ring IMO.

He should have instructed Kessler to hit Andre 'The Goat' Ward in the nuts as soon as it was evident that the US ref would let anything go.
