But the problem with that is that if Manny has anything, and I mean anything to hide, the last thing that you want to do is file a lawsuit. Lawsuits authorize subpoenas and subpoenas compel people to provide evidence against you. They can talk to his trainers and his sparring partners and his enemies. And if any of those people say anything bad the other side can release it to the media (so long as there is not confidentiality order) with complete immunity. As the Plaintiff he will essentially be on trial for every bad thing that he has done or is thought to have done. Talk about damage to your reputation. Now Petrocelli doesn't care about that because he is getting paid probably close to a $1000 an hour. So if it ends up blowing up in Manny's face that's Manny's problem.

...let me ask you something, do you think that if Manny's dirty he's going to get the law involved with this?...Bob Arum is a lawyer I think and do you think that he's sat Manny down and told him what is going to happen before he even went through with the law suit?...you guys on here are goofy...really goofy...if there's any chance that Manny is dirty then both Arum and Roach would not let Manny go through with this lawsuit...you guys make my head hurt...

With Floyd Sr being a professional boxing trainer, obviously he would be percieved as someone who has extensive knowledge on the subject.

      Good points...

I would also like to add:

Having full knowledge that his son would be a likely future opponent of PAC, Mayweather Sr's libelous actions (if proven in the present case) can be seen as unduly (illegaly) manipulating the present contract negotiations, intended to favor his son...

This is akin to insider trading and fraud laws...

...let's look at it this way Einstein, if Manny is dirty:

#1 The easy way, by not bringing in the law all he get's is a slap on the wrist from the boxing authorities, more or less like Mosley. Nothing he can't live with.

#2 The hard way, by bringing in the law he will get jail time for purjury right off the bat, and whatever else they decided to bring up against him as the thing goes on, thrown on top of the major spanking the boxing authorities will be giving him for taking it to the next level, meaning making it a legal matter. This can ruin his life and name forever. Plus we have the reprocussions to Roach and Arum for backing him. It can be very ugly.

                  So, what would you choose?
