If you are dedicated enough you can cut the weight easily, I went from 265 to 215 in about 6 months. I'm trying to cut to about 190-185

getting down in weight is the easiest part man.

i gained like 20 pounds over the summer last year (went up to 164.. i'm 5'10) and lost them in 2 months. as of today i am 142.4.

i didn't go on any kind of special diet.. i just ran 6 miles a day at steady jogging pace (you can't stop or slow the pace down a tiny but just don't stop) with a jacket on. 4-5 days a week and was losing them easily.

i did eat only 2 times a day because i never eat breakfast. ate something heavy for lunch, whatever i wanted though. and for dinner i'd have something light.. then you're going to have to learn to satisfy those late night cravings with fruits and just go to sleep. you'll get used to it.

i know you shouldn't be eating "anything you want" if your serious about boxing but substitue that with a good healthy meal. you should be losing the pounds faster and healthier of course.

      good luck man!

PED is the way, Refuse to take any random blood test and then avoid any possible competition or better yet fight stationary targets dont fight moving fighters they would make you look one-dimensional.

i cant bench press a whole lot, which i find that as an advantage to go to a lower weight class. i can bench around 70 lbs

I figure im going to train on the heavy bag 3 mins and 1 min rest for 5 rounds to start off then work my way up to 12 rounds

And i play basketball everyday to help keep up my fitness

            Any other tips...thank you

*I DONT HAVE A BENCH PRESS TO BENCH ANYMORE. THATS WHY IM SO WEAK
Youre 5'11 247lbs and can only bench 70lbs?? Or was that supposed to be 170 or something? If not theres something wrong with you I dont care if u never owned a bench in your life. ANyways find a gym thats known for getting there fighters somewhere.

You play basketball everyday? Is it half or full court? I hope you are not seriously thinking about getting in the ring anytime soon those guys will kill you. Are you just doing the workout to lose weight?

Boxing really isn't for you if you only can bench press 70 lbs at your current weight. Maybe you should start at the gym to improve that strength a little, because it can't be for real that you at a age of 21 can't max press about your own weight.
