Is There a Test to Detect HGH Use?

Human growth hormone (HGH) has found use as a performance-enhancing drug for athletes, often used in tandem with anabolic steroids. As a result, a need has arisen for a test to detect HGH use.

    Background
    1. Human growth hormone causes the liver to produce insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), which promotes growth of the bones, organs and muscles.
    Blood Test
    2. In 2004, one of the first major HGH tests debuted at the Athens, Greece Summer Olympic Games in the form of a blood test.
    Effectiveness of Blood Test
    3. Positive tests have not surfaced because athletes often take the drug during the off-season and the blood test can only detect HGH between 24 and 48 hours after use. Furthermore, many organizations, like Major League Baseball, do not allow blood testing for their players.
    Urine Test
    4. In 2008, USA Today reported that a collaboration between American and Italian scientists produced a test that detects HGH use via urine samples.
    Effectiveness of Urine Test
    5. According to USA Today, the urine test can detect HGH two weeks after use. This is because the test involves a particle that traps HGH molecules and amplifies their presence so the hormone can be identified.

so... why floyd is insisting blood test if urine test is more reliable?
    hmmm.. something is wrong here.

      floyd knows more about drugs,...
floyd knows that EPO can only be detected by blood test, not urine, close to the day of infusion.
floyd has been using EPO for a long time......
and so he knows that epo stays in the system for a very short period of time.

Random Blood Testing is part of Mayweathers’ Game Plan
        By Said J. Sahi, M.D

The demand of the Mayweathers and Golden Boy promotion for Manny to undergo an USADA Olympic-style blood test while on training period leading to the fight is a part of their game plan.

It is not really to prove that Manny is using steroids or not. It is a psychological warfare, a harassment and a distraction to Manny’s training regimen because they know for a fact that Manny can become weak if his blood will be drawn few days prior to the fight.

If Manny agreed to this kind of testing, the USADA can extract his blood anytime. What Manny wants is a scheduled blood testing with cut-off date not close to the fyt.

It's not the same for everyone. Some people will be affected in a different manner. I personally get dizzy and weak and my arm feels very tired. My wife on the other doesn't even feel a thing during and after the blood test. BUt at the same time i'm a big pvssy when it comes to needles and especially blood test.

Manny has stated how he would feel, that's why he's against this whole thing in the first place. I'm sure he could care less how Floyd would feel, remember that Manny didn't ask for this. You keep forgeting the fact that if Floyd didn't ask for this in the first place, this fight would've have been signed already for March 13.

When did Manny first state how he would feel? And when did Floyd state it for himself?

Exact date?! Why does it matter, and again why would Manny care how Floyd feels. Floyd asked for the test, so obviously he doesn't have any problem with it. But if i remember correctly that from the begining when this issue was brought up, Roach vehemently was against it because he knows that it will weaken Manny.
