Why would he step away when he has a shot at Ward 'who's not a big puncher' for a title, coming up?Comment

Maybe he gets a good pay off takes a step back signs for an easy fight or two and then challenges Bute or someone else for their strap? I just don't see it happening I think it is going to happen the fight with Ward for sure unless he gets offered serious money and then a very easy fight.....LeftyComment

Yeah, if it's true that Showtime is doing this, then it sets a precedent. Where do they stop at buying guys out? If Kessler gets badly beat up by Froch, do they try to buy him out because he'll have looked like **** in consecutive fights? If Dirrell gets concussed by AA do they buy him out?
One one hand I think taking a couple easier fights would be the best thing for Taylor if he's going to continue his career at all.
But Showtime knew his record when they asked him to participate. They knew what might happen if they scheduled him against Abraham in the first round. And it did happen. They got what they paid for, and now they're acting like they never wanted it to begin with.Comment

I don't think Taylor would have any trouble against Allen Green if they were to fight in March. So I fail to understand the rationale behind replacing Taylor with an inferior fighter for any reason other than a lack of desire from Taylor to continue.Comment
