JMM vs Diaz gets my vote for FOTY

JMM vs Diaz was my pick for fight of the year. It did lose some hype because it was at the beginning of the year and other fights like Williams vs Martinez, and Ortiz vs Maidana are still fresh in most people's heads, but the JMM vs Diaz fight was non-stop action for 9 rounds. There was constant give and take. Diaz non-stop pressure and Marquez willingness to mix it up made for a great fight. I don't think though that it is up there with Morales vs Barrera I. Watch that fight again, there was some true hate between two men in that fight.

To tell you the truth til the fight of Williams/Martinez I had 1. JMM/Diaz ..... I always say that williams/martinez is a strong candidate but since jmm/diaz was a long time ago I would have to re-watch it so I can be fair.

imo he should be at 130 but yeah 135 is a better weight for him than 140

anyways i dunno if you fellas stateside follow any british boxing but rhodes vs moore was a quality fight. two of the best of british going at it toe-to-toe. imo rhodes right now would give alot of top LMW's a run for their money.

i think martinez vs williams deserves a mention, but overall it has to be jmm vs diaz. if you want a FOTY just get to mexicans in the ring!!!!

Would love to, but they don't often televise the slightly lower tier fights from across the pond over here. Suppose I could find a stream if I knew which ones were potentially good fights. Maybe one of you guys could post a thread when there's a fight worth lookin' for a link to?

I'd say Diaz v. Marquez was fight of the year. It was exciting from start to finish and the finish was the ultimate climax. It's fair to compare the fight to the Morales MAB wars. Williams v. Martinez was a great fight as well but not as climactic as Diaz Marquez IMO.

they have it on HBO on demand, all the big fights of 09 are all there for everyone to see, its free! i watched Diaz vs JMM and Martines vs Williams back to back, both great fights but JMM vs Diaz gets my vote, the other one is 2nd place.
