The lineal Champion is the #1 right?

So Floyd went up to SMW when in like 1993? Michael Nunn was the #1 guy at the time.

And, after Roy went back down to LHW to fight Tarver. Dariusz M was the #1 guy.

They were the lineal champions while Roy was there.

Could Roy beat them? Yea... Was Roy better? Yes... But, he didn't fight them and you can't give them credit for that...

There was no lineal champion at SMW when Roy moved up to SMW... but James Toney was ranked #1, and not only that but he was #3 on the p4p list.

When Roy went back to LHW in 2003 after beating Ruiz... Tarver was ranked #1 by the Ring. And after Roy beat Tarver, Tarver was still #2 and Darius was #3 by the ring rankings.

Your argument was he never beat the #1 guy at any weight class, and that isn't true.

Was Jones confirmed on roids? I could have sworn it was ripped fuel which is a dietary product and it caused a false positive

He tested positive for andro in 2000, which was legal until 2004 and was available over the counter until 2004. The guy he was fighting, Hall, had twice the amount in him that Roy did... Andro was in ripped fuel..

I can imagine HW's are probably swimmin' with 'roid users. How about the JMWs and lower ? I would think it would be EPO's or something like it that would be the drug of choice amongst the lil guys.
A number of lesser known fighters have admitted to me that they have used things like anabolic steroids and HGH to gain an edge. I have heard whispers in gyms of more famous guys but nothing I can substantiate with proof.

I can tell you that it's not just heavyweights using PEDS. It's lightweights, welterweights, anyone who is looking for an edge. I have heard of champions in featherweight and lightweight divisions using steroids to take their games to another level.

Have been saying this a lot about boxers and individual sports in general, They would take anything that would give them an edge if they can get away with it especially in boxing.

Ahtletes are always looking for an edge, hell not even just athlete any human that is any competitive situation wants an edge. PED are not some magic wand that will make some average guy great because it is a huge leap in overall ability, but a already great fighter who has a strong work ethic that can be a pretty large edge. It would be kind of foolish (to me anyways) to think PED are not more common in boxing because really it does not come up that much, in a sport like boxing I would have to imagine more of that kind of stuff is going on.

It would also be a mental edge to know you are on something that makes you better, and the brain when conviced of something can do incredible things.

Actually there was lineal champ at SMW.

                    Victor Cordoba (1991-1992)
                    Michael Nunn (1992-1994)
                    Steve Little (1994)
                    Frank Liles (1994-1999)

And, to me when you are the lineal champ you are the #1 fighter. You are the man in that weight-class. You are the man, who beat the man, who beat the man.

At LHW Dariusz was the lineal champ. Rink #3 but Dariusz was the lineal champ. And, again the lineal champ is the #1 guy. You beat the man, who beat, who beat the man. Which all that makes you the man...

So Roy never ever beat the #1 guy. He never fought the #1 guy.
