Molsey was outboxed by Miguel Cotto......
Mosley vs Mayweather will look like Tarver vs Jones 2

Mosley approached the Cotto fight all wrong and was actually a little too ****y for his own good. He went after Cotto right from the beginning never thinking that Miguel could hurt him then bam!... it happened he was stunned pretty bad and was fighting in a fog for about 3-4 rounds before he was able to clear his head and change his tactics. By the time the last bell rang Miguel was getting caught with clean punches and Mosley was getting stronger. He just lost too many rounds to begin with to actually win the fight.Comment

This is true. But roy never had defense, or boxing fundamentals. Two entirely different fighters. Roy only sits on the ropes, leans back, and shells/grabs back of opponents head. Tries to get the action broken up by the ref and reset to the center of the ring. You just contradicted yourself. If you start to slow down everything slows down, father time handicaps all fast fighters even defensive ones. Look what happened to Pernell Whitaker vs Trinidad or Sugar Ray Leonard vs Terry Norris. The only thing that survives aging is punching power.
Floyd on the other hand, actually creates openings in the corner, and is comfortable defending/fighting there.Comment

techniques like shoulder rolls and what Hopkins and Ruiz do are also defensive tactics that don't require great speed......You just contradicted yourself. I see what your saying. Your talking about anticipating your opponent not using speed per se.This is true. But roy never had defense, or boxing fundamentals. Two entirely different fighters. I think against some fighters it can work. But if your opponent is also gifted with quick reflexes like Calzaghe was against Hopkins it can also back fire.Comment

So true, plus Calzaghes workrate is pretty crazy. Call'em a slapper all ya want but it's effective. He can throw from any position, doesn't need to get himself set.Comment
