Shannon Briggs:a look at his career

had a few big but couldn't stay in shape & lacked the drive.he's made some money & still has power but now caught using steroids & facing suspension means it could be the end.he got to big.225 to 275 was too much even though he won a title vs liakhovich.he's fought 4 former world champions going 2-2.he's fought in 3 title matches going 2-1.his resume is limited with fights vs foreman, lennox,Botha, mccline, mercer(old),liakhovic h,& ibragimov.could have done more if he worked harder.

I agree, if only he had more motivation and focus.

This is the fiirst time (I think) that he was caught with illegal substance in his system, maybe that's why he is in new york right now.

Apparently he's set to fight here in Glendale across the street from where I go to school.

      How convenient!

i think his defense against ibragomov told the story to this guys whole career. he does just enough to get into some kind of shape, sits back, waits, trys to win the fight with one punch, rinse and repeat.

Briggs looks like a ****ing tank.

I mean he has major limitations as a boxer, but he is a scary looking dude thats for sure.

The guy looked like a serious prospect early in his career when he used to come out quick and knock guys out in a round or two but then he fell apart against Wilson. His career high came when he fought Foreman and Lewis, the win over Foreman was very disputed but he gave a decent account of himself against Lewis, giving Lewis a pretty tough fight before Lewis took over. From that point it was downhill, getting a disputed draw against Botha in a fight Botha should've won, then losing in a pretty big upset against Fields where he just got outhustled. It's a surprise he made it back to title contention at all, well maybe not so much considering how shallow the heavyweight division became.

Really? Then this is the first time that it's officially declared he tested positive on something.

Somehow there's still no word on him getting a suspension and he is still scheduled to fight on Jan 8.
