What's your take on the Judah/Tszyu fight?

Did Tszyu really defeat Judah or do you think the knockout was called too eairly? One thing that definatly cannot be argued is that Zab got his world rocked. However, I recall while watching the film that the commentaors said something about "if a fighter falls back down after standing up the ref stops the fight."

Is that a real rule or just something a ref normally does? I seem to remeber Berbeck getting up like 3x in the fight against Tyson and the ref counted him out. Anyway. Opinions anyone?

I think it had to do with Judah's mental state at the time. After doing the lambada all over the ring, he seriously didn't seem like he could successfully continue. Jay Nady was also probably like "WTF do I do?, This guy is all ****ed up!!"

Perfect stoppage by Jay Nady, Zab was out on his feet, if he let the fight go 20 seconds longer, Zab woulda ended up in a coma...

if you consider it a "quick stoppage" then I guess Trevor Berbick was good-2-go against Tyson after getting up and crashing twice more

What's your take on the Judah/Tszyu fight?

tszyu was just too much for judah, and I think in a rematch it would be just the same

Yeah why did they never rematch? I thought maybe Judah would have wanted to settle the score. Maybe he just got scared.

From what I heard, Judah said no rematch if he beats KT. After KT won and Judah wanted a rematch, KT basically spit in his face.

After a 2nd round KO, why grant a rematch? The only thing Tszyu could do to 1-up that performance would be a 1st round KO, which is unlikely vs. a a guy like Zab, so Kostya had zero incentive for a rematch

Leading up to the fight most boxing experts thought that Judah would coast to a UD and Judah thought this fight was going to be far to easy. During the buildup there was talk of a rematch clause and it was Zab who said there would be no rematch..."winner take all" (was his exact quote)

After KT won he just echoed the words of Judah, winner take all.

I thought the stoppage was a bit premature, in a fight like that you give Judah an eight count before you make any kind of decision on weather a fighter can continue or not. Had Nady gave Zab an eight count Zab would have been ready too fight on.

Now, in retrospect if the fight would have continued Zab would have either lost a UD because he was running scared the rest of the fight or he would have been brutalized and embarrassed far worse than he already was, I tend to think the latter would have happened.

In a way the 2nd round controversey saved Zab from taking a far worse pounding.

Can anyone on this site imagine Zab Judah winning a give and take brawl/war??????

Yeah, KT made Zab look like a journeyman with that performance.
