Look this is a public stunt for his fans back home, who view Manny as a national hero, but you donīt actually think he has a leg to stand on? To my knowledge Mayweather Jr. has never accused Pacquiao of steroid use, he demands random doping tests conducted by the USADA. If that was grounds for a lawsuit every athlete in the world could sue his national doping agency.

Mayweather Sr. on the other hand could be in trouble.

It certainly doesnīt help your case in any way, when you extend a contract offer to a person, who ( I believe) is actually on record accusing Pacquiao of steroid abuse. Double

Jr. didn't accuse Pacman..it was Sr.

        It is all about slander.

They haven't filed any suit yet. They are looking into it.

That's why the thread name is Pacquiao Plans Legal Battle

A man stands to mke over $40 million in one night, but suddenly fels offended about Olympic style drug testing. Not looking at the names, just at the sport like any other, those who actually participate in sports know that urine test is not so diffucult to cheat, from removing the urine with a catether and inserting water or clean urine (ask bodybuilders) to cleaning the system beforehand to even damaging the sample with other products ingested. And even without that, look at cases like Sugar Shane Mosley. When did he test positive? Yet he admitted to using performance enhancinf substances. You have all these other sports that dont pay a fraction in a lifetime of competition of what Manny stands to do that night, and they are subjected to Olympic Style ramdom testing, and Manny can't do it for one fight? For a guaranteed $25 milliom plus sponsors plus PPV? I was a fan of Manny. But he is an ambassador of the sport, and if he cant man up and show the world hes for real, he is casting doubt upon himself and the sport. If hes clean, just prove it. If not, go join Mosley, Vargas, Margarito, Luis Resto, Chavez junior and the rest of the cheaters. He honestly cant expect the fans to beleive the needle story and that a mere sample of blood leaves you weakened. If that were the case, how come Lance Armstrong had to give samples almost every day in competition and still won 7 tour de France? The needle story sounds like the Arum bitchin when Margarito got caught.

              \
Yes-the difference of libel is defamation that is broadcasted, written,or perhaps even on the internet. All of those qualify with libel.
Defamation suits are/can be difficult because you have to prove that the statements have ruined or tarnished your reputation, harmed you in some way,or perhaps made you lose out financially. On top of that,as long as you have stated your opinion in a way that only expresses it as opinion and not factual then it makes it less likely to have success.
Keep in mind that just because someone prints what they believed you to say, doesn't mean you said it the way it was printed. The Mayweather's can express their opinions, but whomever prints that statement can probably be held responsible...
Like I have said before, these suits can be very tough and reap nothing without solid enough evidence.

Vargas & Toney both failed on the post fight test for using steroids.

My Take On This........He Should Do The Test....but walk

away from the fight and forget Jr. and fight Mosley or Berto instead. But if he doesn't want to take the test ..I respect him. He never failed a drug test before, so to me he is legit.

That doesn't make sense considering both was reported to want the tests done too
