That's b.s. Hopkins originally lowballed Adamek and Adamek declined. Hopkins later came back to Adamek and offered a 60/40 split and Adamek agreed. Everythinng was ready to go, the problem was that HBO was not willing to release their 2010 budget at the time and could not confirm the fight. The fight was in limbo. Roy jones started chattering about hopkins, and Adameks people wanted him to make some money against Golota. Adamek chose Golota, and rightfully so as he made some good money. Hopkins no longer had a dance partner, then agreed in principle to fight jones and the rest is history.
So you're incorrect - hopkins was serious about adamek, offered 60/40 which adamek agreed to but HBO could not and would not confirm the fight because they coudln't have their 2010 budget laid out in time (and unfortunately for us, hbo had a lot of budget cuts out of boxing).
Never really possible[
You didn't see what danny green did to him??
See above.
Dawson is still an option but hopkins will go wherever the money is,
Hopkins mentioned Maskeev as a possible opponent, Golden boy narrowed the opponents down to Maskeev, Jones or Calzaghe. Obviously hopkins went with Calzaghe and hopkins lost, which ruined any chance of that fight happening, furhter Maskeev himself lost around the same time and was injured.
Of course this hasn't happened because hopkins just mentioned this weeks ago being his "3 fight plan." First was supposed to be his tune up, then Jones, then Haye. We have no idea what can happen now.
