I'm disappointed in Hopkins for that also. But it's not just Dawson. Bute would like to fight Hopkins too, and Hopkins doesn't want to go down to 168. The only way the fight happens if Bute comes up which has become a constant pattern in Bernard's career. Bute and Dawson's style isn't tailor made for Hopkins like Green is and that's why he isn't entertaining the thought of fighting them. And HBO is on some bull**** by turning down an Adamek-Hopkins fight but accepting Danny Green as an opponent.

Green will make good money even if he fights Crazy Kim. Australia doesn't have many top boxers so they cling to the ones they do have, that's why Mundine, Dib, Green, and others can fight bums, yet still sell out arenas and get PPV buys. When Hopkins fights a can, it's on some obscure channel Versus in America.

The reason for Green over Dawson is quite simple - money. Hopkins can make much more of it fighting in australia (assuming they figure out the purse split). Dawson doesn't have a fan base, simple as that.

As far as bute, I don't think it would be wise for a 45 year old man to go down in weight. His plan was to go up in weight.

Plus, as a fan of bute, I don't think it would be a wise move for him either. His best bet is fight a couple guys like allen green, miranda, guys like that until the super six tournament is over and he can fight the winner and make some big bucks and potentially win all the belts and ring belt.

Let's be honest, Hopkins can't defeat Dawnson, not at this stage of his life, he's not 35 anymore.

So why bother with him? Let him fight a few guys before calling it quits.

Hopkins was never going to fight Adamek he was just bluffing. Off the top of my head Hopkins has said he was going to fight the following fighters in the past: Toney, Jones, Ademek, Dawson, Maskeev and Haye and none of those fights happened. But it would be interesting to watch Hopkins fight a non blown up for a change.

LOL at the headline, I thought b-hop was pissed cuz they were going to pay him in euros..I wuz like somebody better tell him the euro is worth more than the dollar..50/50 makes no sense ..
