His opponent is yet to be determined but I hope it's someone decent. Also, there was talk last month about Solis fighting Ray Austin for the #1 spot for the WBC title....

I'd prefer toney but Austin I'm ok with.fres oquendo was suppose to fight him last but monte Barrett filled in instead.

I've watched Solis since his amateur days. He was a outstanding amateur following the tradition of so many great Cuban Amateurs.

        Solis Amateur Accomplsihments
-1998 Gold medalist at the Junior World Amateur Boxing Championships
        -1999 Panamerican Games Champion
-2001 Gold medalist at Heavyweight at the World Amateur Boxing Championships
-2003 Gold medalist at heavyweight at the World Amateur Boxing Championships
-2004 Gold medalist at heavyweight at the Olympics in Athens.

His amateur accomplishments speak for themselves. As a Amtuer Solis beat numerous well known Pro Heavyweights etc Sultan Ibragimov and mainly current WBA Heavyweight Champion David Haye.

But even do Solis is now 15-0 as a Pro. He hasn't been as impressive as many thought he would be. In most of his fight Solis has come in pourly conditioned and fought to the level of his opponent's.

At times Solis seems happy going through the motions and fighting extremley lazy and just getting by on his natural talent. He has reminded alot of people of former standout Cuba amateur Jorge Luis Gonzalez. Who like Solis was extremely talent and had a great amatuer pedigree.

But never took his training or career seriouly and ended up a Journyman. Solis should look at this and it should tell him this is what happens when you dont take your training or the sport as serious as you should do.

But in fairness, in Solis's last fight he looked his best yet, which is saying alot. Solis knocked out former world title challager Monte Barrett in just 2 rounds for the WBC International heavyweight title.

The fight before, Barret had taken David Haye 5 and Barret also shook Haye. Although Barret is coming to the end and was 38, it was still pretty impressive.

This is what Solis can prduce when focused and trained. I hope he can stay dedicated and reach his full potential. As there are very interesting fights for him out there.......

Next up I would like to see him fight a legit contender etc Kevin Johnson, Alexander Dimitrenko, Tony Thompson, Denis Boytsov.

Yes, that would be an intriguing matchup.

I'd like to see him in with one of these four: Johnson, Toney, Thompson, or Arreola.

I'd like to see any of those guys & even add peter,Austin,or oquendo.Austin, peter, toney are all in shape for once & oquendo has been pretty active the last year.all these guys are a step up over Barrett who was the ultimate gatekeeper but is near the end.
