Mayweather v Pacquiao Is Off

The fight between Floyd Mayweather Junior and Manny Pacquiao is off because the two sides cannot agree on drug testing.




It could have been one of the biggest money-making fights in boxing history but Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum, says it will not go ahead because Mayweather has demanded Olympic-style dope testing.

The Fillipino boxer, Paquiao, does not want to give blood within 30 days of the fight as he feels it would disturb his training.

Arum is not happy because he says blood tests have never been used for professional fights in Las Vegas: "What I believe is that Floyd never really wanted the fight and this is just harassment of Pacquiao.

"Floyd, to me, is a coward and he has always been a coward.

"Not a physical coward, but a coward because he's afraid to face somebody who could beat him.

"He knew that Manny gets freaked out when his blood gets taken and feels that it weakens him."

Mayweather said: "I have already agreed to the testing and it is a shame that he is not willing to do the same.

"It leaves me with great doubt as to the level of fairness I would be facing in the ring that night."

The fight had been scheduled to take place on the March 13th

Is that so? Because I got an article from the Anti-Doping Agency that says they are years away from developing tests that measure hGH in the urine and as of now it can only be done for blood tests. I got a scientific journal from pubmed that says hGH is a unstable molecule with a short half life so that it can't even be detected in your blood after 24 hours meaning any scheduled drug tests that aren't randomized are meaningless because they can simply not take it the day before a test...and random urine samples will be pointless because they cant detect hGH and are simply best for steroids

If its good enough for the men and women of the olympics then it is good enough for these fighters!!! unless someone has somthing to hide!!! i hknow alot of people on probation and they have to drop Urine drug test all the time and they clean there system before they pee in the cup!!! so a urine test can be beat!!! so who ever says no to an OLYMPIC test has something to hide!!

i don't understand why the $10M is ridiculous? It only gives mayweather reason to come in at the 147 contracted weight. it could be a $1M for god sakes and still mayweather will come in below 147. its only a number.

don't you understand what you read? they would do the blood test if not only the possibility that pacman's blood be drawn as late as the night of the fight or having them at your home 4.am in the morning? would you rather see excuses after the fight because of this issue? it doesn't mean if its good for one fighter, its good for the other. demand sounds too ridiculous already
