After learning of Roy Jones Jr's recent interview with **********.com, Danny Green told us, "I must have hit Roy Jones harder than I thought, because Roy brought and wore his own gloves to the fight. He's a future hall of famer that I have a lot of admiration and respect for. I'm just very, very happy and satisfied to hand him a crushing defeat."

GL: Is there a rematch clause?

DG: "Yeah, there is, but it's not immediate."

GL: Any accusations that he's making about the wraps being illegal are completely false?

DG: "No comment on that mate, now I'm off to do Bernard Hopkins business." ********** plans on speaking with Green again later today so stay tuned to our front page for all the latest."

Hey Greg, I read with great interest the Jones claims of illegal handwraps in his interview, Now that is a big claim but what stumped me was Green’s “no comment” in the follow up interview, could you please fill me in, on the manner in which he made the no comment statement as when I read it I couldn’t determine whether it was a dismissive no comment that could be determined as Green saying it is all garbage or was it a straight up no comment, as in he is almost accepting that he did it, if that is the case somebody needs either a life ban or at the very least a lengthy suspension. Now I’m not saying Green should or shouldn’t be suspended, but whoever the authorities are that allowed that to go on should be banned. In all fairness if Margarito got 12 months & he claimed to have known nothing of what was going on & Green knowingly put it on you’d think Green would have a bit of time to serve himself. I just cant understand why this isn’t a much bigger story. PS is the rematch expected to be in Australia again or is Jones pretty adamant that it will take place in the States??


Leon's Response: I was surprised by it as well, but since I'm an optimist, I can only imagine it was because he wasn't trying to dignify Roy's accusations with a response, but eventually and sooner rather than later, there will be a follow up. I've been trying to call Roy to get a response and confirm that what I've been hearing, which is that Team Royness is willing to give Bernard the first $3M made from the promotion as well as a larger percentage split. Should be an interesting week on **********.
