Jeff Lacy? Is he going to retire?

I think he should. Clearly he's not going to achieve the lofty expectations people had for him, and I've heard he's on his way to being punch drunk.

Anyone hear anything on Lacy?

I hope he makes the right decision. Watching him in interviews he comes across as a nice guy.

The problem with Jeff Lacy is that he has spectacularly failed to meet expectations.

However, there is no reason why he cannot continue as a journeyman fighter. Most mid/lower ranked SMW/LHWs would get whooped by Calzaghe, Taylor and RJJ, but people aren't demanding that anyone outside the top 30 retire (and Lacy is probably still inside the top 30). Lacy was competitive with Manfredo (**** fight, I know), but I missed the thread about retiring Manfredo.

Every fighter aspires to be champ. Lacy's done that but ain't going back. He still needs to earn a few $ and under-card fights and putting over new talent is the best way he can earn guaranteed money. There's no shame in being a mid-carder, it just wasn't in the Lacy script of 3 or 4 years ago.
