I don't mind seeing him fight on, but the guy is just too limited now without his left hook.
When was the last time he KO'd someone? You have to go back to 2005 when he looked spectacular against Pemberton. Since the Calzaghe beat down and the shoulder injury he's been looking like a shot fighter.

Actually the Pemberton victory is Lacy's last "clear" win. After the Calzaghe fight he was lucky to get the decision against Tsypko (Many ppl thought Tsypko won). He looked very average against both Manfredo and Epifanio Mendoza and was again lucky to get the decision in those fights. Up next was Taylor where he lost in a pretty one sided fight, then he got a gift against Otis griffin and after that Roy took him to school.

Let's face it...Jeff Lacy can't even beat B-class opponents convincingly nowadays and in every fight he takes LOTS of punishment. He is slow and has lost most of his power, and Lacy without his power is not going to be any threat to any top 10 boxer.

If he continues, he should go back to the drawing board and learn the basic skills he bypassed early in his career. Fight a few bums and spend alot of time working on the basics in the gym, otherwise it's pointless.

I would like to think so. If Lacy continues to fight he is seriouly risking his health and well being.

Lacy at his peak was deemed for true superstardom. Most were saying he was the next Mike Tyson. He was built like a brick wall, big shoulders, neck, arms and so forth.

He was also looked as a devastating puncher especailly the left hook, thus the nick name. He was destined by the boxing world to take over the 168lb Division and do it in devastating fashion.

But after the night of March 4th 2006 Lacy would never be the same again. Going into his highly anticapted clash with unbeaten Joe Calzaghe. Lacy carried a record of 21-0 17 coming by way of KO.

He was IBF Champion and had already made 4 defences of the title. Lacy was also a standout amateur winning the 1998 United States Amateur middleweight championships. Aswell as being a member of the 2000 U.S. Olympic Team.

Virtually all the boxing press and fans were picking him to beat Calzaghe by just being to strong and punching to hard.

But Calzaghe put on a masterfull display of boxing and completey battered Lacy for 12 one sided rounds. Some say Lacy was always overrated and the reason he was beaten so bad was because he took a step up in class, others say Calzaghe ruined him.

Both arguments are up for debate. Since the Calzaghe fight, Lacy's record stands at 4-2. In his 4 wins he has looked extremly medicore just about winning two of them.

His losses came against Jermain Taylor, were he easily outboxed for 12 rounds. Taylor hasn't won a fight since beating Lacy.

His other loss came against a 40 year old Roy Jones. Jones completly dominated Lacy from start to finish aswell as mocking him throughout the bout. Lacy was stopped in 10.

Jones's has since been knocked out in 1 round by Danny Green. This is a danger sign for Jeff. His two losses have come against fellow washed up fighters who have since been knocked out and since there Lacy victories, havent won a fight.

Jeff has made some pretty decent money from boxing and is still only young at 32 so he can go into other things. But I would seriouly advise him to hang the gloves up while he's still healthy and his mind is still intact.

He should have hung them up after his ass whooping by Calzaghe. He took about 10 plus fights worth of damage all in one fight.

yea but calzaghe only has 1/10 the power of an average man so it even outs.

Daggum is disgruntled Jeff Lacy holding onto a grudge, now we know why his posts always bash Calzaghe. Calzaghe gave you brain-damage fool! No power? Then why is your face all ****ed up and look like you got downs after Calz got don with you.

I think he should, I feel a bit sorry for him as I think people have never really forgiven him for not only losing to Calzaghe, but being absolutely torn to shreds. The guy may have came up a little short in his career but he always fought with a lot of courage.

                    Anyone hear anything on Lacy?
                    He definitely should.
