You act like you're afraid of something. If the speculation is based on nothing then there should be no problem with testing right? And professional boxing doesn't test for all PHD. Their test are pretty basic and actually primitive when it comes to steroids. That's why they want Olympic style drug testing and blood. Like I said before, I give Manny the benefit of the doubt NOW. But if he doesn't go through with the testing I won't. Either Roach is the worst PR person in the world or he's hiding something.
Floyd mayweather sr.: "i definitely want pacquiao to give blood!"

There's a big difference between aftecting someone "Mentally and/or Physically". And how do you know that it won't or it will. You can't honestly tell me that you know for sure 100% that it will affect him or not. And you can't say that about everybody either.Comment

not necessarily to "clear his name," but follow through with what has been agreed upon. twist it any way you want, but refusing to do the tests will only add to the su****ion, and give detractors more ammunition. as has been stated many times, if you have nothing to hide, why not take the tests?
Because he doesn't have to take the Olympic test in the first place. Manny could've easily said the standard testing is just fine, take it or leave it. And he did agree and he is following through on what they have agreed upon in terms of the Olympic testing. This blood test before the fight is something new and completely seperate and different from what they have initially agreed on. And they have agreed on the blood testing after the fight, not before, and there shouldn't be any difference.Last edited by rommel357; 12-22-2009, 02:25 PM.Comment

You can't possibly believe that a professional boxer as mentally strong as Manny Pacquiao would be mentally affected by giving a blood sample. If you do believe that then you believe anything Roach says which I suspect anyway. If Pacquiao is that fragile mentally then he's in trouble for this fight because that's nothing compared to what he's facing mentally with Mayweather.Comment

my point is that the small sample they're taking won't be enough to affect somebody "physically," as the other poster had stated.
and how will it affect pac mentally, if he's clean? i've still yet to get a good answer for that question.

roach is one trying to change things by putting time limits in place. he said he doesn't want pacquiao tested within 6 weeks of the fight, b/c it will affect him MENTALLY, not physically.

Actually, if the speculations and accusations are based on nothing, then there shouldn't be any other testing at all other than the standard testing. All of this is based on Mayweather Sr's accusations, nothing more. Both parties are doing the Olympic testing they've agreed upon, it's the blood testing before the fight instead of after the fight that is in question.Comment

I haven't read this entire thread so if i repeat something than excuse me. It would make no sense to check for blood the day before the fight if they worried about beating random tests, it makes sense a FEW weeks before the fight and a day after the fight. If something is the blood one day before the fight than it will likely not clear the day after.
I think a few weeks before the fight is to prevent cycling off drugs if either fighter is cheating. I would agree that taking blood a day before is unnecessary.Comment

i don't think there were specific "dates." i think what was agreed upon is that the fighters would be tested "throughout" their training camps.
