It's articles like this that make me wonder if boxing is slowly becoming more like the WWF. According to this article, Floyd is some old, slow, lazy fighter who has only beaten a bunch of bums in his career.

The fact is both boxers are about the same age (Floyd roughly 1 year older). Both fighters pride themselves on their hard training ethic and physique. Both fighters also like to boast about their speed and coordination. Both fighters also like throwing their money around and donating to various charitable causes. Both fighters also like dabbling in silly things outside of boxing like singing, acting and reality shows. So while they may have different personalities and fighting styles, they have quite a few things in common. This is why I think it will be a very competitive fight that will likely go the distance. Right now I give the edge to Floyd mainly because I think defense will be the key and Manny's defense is not as good in my opinion.

Floyd wins either way unless Roach can crack the code.

Scoop should at least TRY to be somewhat unbiased. Its fine to lean in the direction of one fighter over the other a tad but his articles about this fight have become a joke. Instead looking at the fight in a realistic fashion he just brainstorms and writes down new ways he thought up that Manny can win. Its makes all these articles worthless because they dont come from a balanced place.

Because Mayweather cannot bluff or faze pacmang at all but realize he made a terrible mistake of coming back to fight this man,,,,,, he will tighten up.

Outwardly he presents himself as PLASTIC !!!!! Plastic smile, Plastic walk,, Plastic talk , Plastic Macho,,, all outward..

Pacmang will put him in the trenches, because the Pac team knows they will have to get there sometime and we ALL know Mayweather hates the trenches.

KNOW THIS: In the trenches you can RUN HOT,,, not due to lack of conditioning but due to to tightening up not used to being there ,,,,,,,,, HE AIN"T NEVER BEEN THERE BUT AS SOON AS HE SIGNS,,,, he is gonna feel it, won't ever leave him,,, he will spue his vile trying to shake it,,,,As the rounds go and he gets nailed,,,he won't relax in those trenches and he will BREAK DOWN !!!!! Not only will he feel the PRESSURE YOU Mayweather followers will feel the PRESSURE,, Mayweather will lose in the latter rounds ,, he will breakdown,,,,,,OR get KO'd !!!!

I don't think he is GAME to STAY,,,, He is all MOUTH and skill with NO GUTS ,,,,,now I won't be able to prove it physically until the fight and if I am wrong,,, then EXCORIATE ME !!!!!!

Outward proof of a cowardly heart :

REFUSES to take on all comers !!!!!!!!!

he has managed to tip toe around this with excuses of ones win record,,,,,,,,, He lies ,,, LOL,,, he fools you but to us that know better he does not fool.... he won't fight Mosley because Mosley has some losses but he DUCKED MARGO to fight a nobody that beat a half somebody that was Balto and Zab then Mayweather beat Zab,,,, and do we Exalt him for that ??????? Do we lift him to the heavens because he cheated on a little blown up featherweight ,,, breaking the contract and coming in heavy,,, then BRAGGING ,,,,, thats COWARDLY ! He lies,,,,, he is not trustworthy,, he is not reliable,, he refuses to be answerable and accountable , but the truth is he is LIABLE !!!! He will pay in the RANG MANG!!!

His mouth,, is an indication he has heart problems.

His character is sick which is an indication of heart problems.

He brags he is the best , but who has he fought in the past 5 fights and who has sharpened his skills..??

I don't believe he is game , I think he will breakdown like his Uncle did,,, Pac has got to do this, he has got to get on him and work him over , warm up that head,, he can and he will. Mayweather won't be able to take it,, the smile will leave , sticking out the tongue will stop,,, all that Adrenalin will wear on him,,, little by little it will take that step away from him,,,, the little bulldog named Pacmang will hurt him real bad,,, no place to run , no place to hide !!!!!

Sitting in the corner he will put that head down,, his eyes swelled,, he still has some stamina but his Heart is gone,,, his skills won't be enough to make him get up.... His skills are connected to his heart and Pacmang will take his HEART AWAY from HIM !!!

Pac will either KO , make him QUIT ,,, if he don't he will break him down and he will be in survival mode. I can't see May making it to 12..

                  By Dante Fernando
[Editor's note: Sometimes the mailbox contains some very interesting essays, including this fine work by Dante Fernando...]

Floyd’s need for defense is where his fatal flaw will come in, and I’m sure of this 100 percent. When the Pacman comes in with his two-fisted attacks, the instinctive reaction of Floyd will always be to shell-defend and pop-punch — this is the so-called Mayweather-family style. THIS ALWAYS LEAD TO PRECIOUS MICROSECONDS LOST TO OFFENSE-DEFENSE, EBB-AND-FLOW ADJUSTMENTS. This style is excellent against boxers with ordinary work rates. THE PACMAN NEVER REALLY BOTHERS WITH DEFENSE AND HAS NO SUCH TIMING LOSSES. THERE’S NOTHING BUT WHAM-BAM, WHAM-BAM IN THE PACMAN’S BRAIN WHEN HE FIGHTS — as would be very obvious from his fighting style. Pacquiao will very likely resort to B52-style carpet bombing in the first six rounds. At 32, Floyd will be too old to really adjust to a saturation punching style he has never seen in action against himself. Floyd is no warrior like Hagler. His brain will always cry out to him to defend, defend and defend even more.

Pacquiao needs only a fourth or a fifth of his power punches to get through and register on Mayweather’s mind. Once Pacquiao’s punches are felt, the mental defense of a hurt-man leads to even more punch-timing losses. This was what happened to the last five previous opponents of the Pacman. ALL OF THEM SLOWED DOWN WHEN THEY GOT SERIOUSLY HURT — THEIR MIND IS TELLING THEM TO AVOID FURTHER HARM. FLOYD — WHO IS EVEN MORE of A DEFENSIVE NUT THAN PACMAN’S PREVIOUS OPPONENTS — WOULD BE IN DIRER STRAITS.

Let’s not try to be cute: we all know that, despite the massive gains in boxing finesse of the Pacman, the BEST AND MOST RELIABLE course of action for him would always be to massively pound Floyd every second in the ring, until Floyd tastes the blood spurting from his face. With the kind of inferior opponents he had been feasting on, Floyd is in no physical nor mental condition to go up against a genuine, fierce warrior. THE PACMAN WENT THROUGH THE LATINO WARRIORS GAUNTLET, AND SENT BACK TO SENDERS ALL THEIR SAVAGE PUNCHES, WITH USURIOUS INTEREST TO BOOT — he has little to fear from Floyd.

Further, the problem with Floyd’s cultivation of his “Pretty Boy” and “Money” personas is that these reflect the fact that he has never worked seriously (training seriously is not the same as working seriously) for his easy-money in the ring, and has zero knowledge and experience in what to do next when his face is being blasted apart by a foe whom his family has insulted for too long, and has nothing but vengeance on his mind.
IS THERE STILL A SANE MAYWEATHER FAN OUT THERE WHO BELIEVES THAT A RETRIBUTION-SEEKING PACMAN WOULD ALLOW FLOYD TO PREDICTABLY ELUDE AND POP-PUNCH HIM TO SUBMISSION OVER 12 ROUNDS? OR FEELS THAT A VICTORY OVER THE URINE-BRAINED-AND-BLOATED MARQUEZ IS A FINE INDICATOR OF THE PACMAN’S PERFORMANCE IN MARCH???? Surely, those fans have very little understanding of what makes the Pacman tick. I am thrilled when these fans and Mayweather’s family like Floyd’s chances; nothing can blindside Floyd more than that. You have all seen what kind of devastation is alloted by fate to slick pr*cks who can’t outrun punches anymore — as in a Whitaker who was destroyed by Trinidad.

So did you watch the Pavlik v Espino fight? Bradley v Peterson? Do you care about any other fighters enough to make a thread about them?

There's no way Mayweather's getting knocked out. Neither is Pacquiao.
