Not much has changed since Manny Pacquiao’s Welterweight win over Miguel Cotto provided the last shake up, but there has been enough in December to merit some shifts in the ratings. While others move, only one departs.

Exiting the top ten is Cotto. It is no insult to Cotto. The Puerto Rican star has faced a tougher field of comp over the last few years than almost anyone in the sport and deserves full credit for it, but the reality is he has also taken full punishment in the ring. If he moved up and beat John, as Ring alluded to over the weekend as a possibility, he'd jump a hell of a lot higher than that. That's a big if still. I'd expect, if he leaves 118, a fight with Nishioka at 22.

I was thinking that would most likely be his next fight.

However, what do you think the chances of him fighting Caballero or Poonsawat are?

Personally, I think anyone of those three would make for good fights.

I don't know what the chances are. Maybe easier for Poon...and that's a STELLAR fight. I expect Cab to chase up to Feather next year. Can't be easy to keep making 22 at this point. Lots of good options for Hase.

I would definitely like to Hasegawa-Poon the most.

The only thing I don't like about Hasegawa moving up is that I'd never get to see a Moreno-Hasegawa unification fight.

Hasegawa-Moreno wouldn't be a fight that would excite a lot of fight fans, but it'd be a fight between the two best bantamweights in the world (IMO).

Marquez and Vasquez were both off well over a year and, considering their comeback fights (where they both looked depleted), will have been away from top comp for two by the time they see each other again. Those dudes need to beat someone other than each other to get back on as I don't see their fourth fight proving much in terms of the sports elite.
