the thing is..i noticed alot of people on here seem to think workrate, power, speed and chin are everything about boxing. the reason why hopkins was able to completely neutralize pavliks offense was because of hopkins ability to control range and distance and timed pavlik perfectly. hopkins would sidestep pavlik and then would blast him with combinations and push pavlik back. hopkins kept it at a pace he could control because hopkins is one of the, if not the craftiest boxer of the last decade. williams just doesnt have the smarts and craftiness of bernard hopkins. i would bet a ****load of my points on pavlik to win this fight. and im more of a fan of williams than pavlik to be honest but i just dont see a scenario where williams could win.
Hopkins SWARMED Pavlik with PUNCHES....non stop and speed.
All Pavlik could do was cover up and get his ass beat.
NON STOP PUNCHES.....
Hopkins wasnt making him miss.....PAVLIK couldnt throw his punches.
GREAT ANSWER HOMIE..........10K FOR YOU.
It wasn't purely that, Hopkins would choose when to throw his punches. He was countering it wasn't non stop aggression like Williams brings it was waiting for opportunities to counter and letting the combinations fly after counter punching. Selective aggression.
Williams-Pavlik will be a TOTALLY different fight, I think it's a 50/50 fight personally.
Two words: Lateral movement. I hope Pavlik has fixed the flaws because there will be no excuses if he shows up stiff and one dimensional, he had more than enough time!
