Why is Dawson waiting so long to get back in the ring?

Yeah, but he is talking about waiting until June. World class fighters are not supposed to wait that long on purpose. I don't know if it's all his fault or if it's something to do with his HBO contract. But if it takes fighting another fight on a network just to stay busy, he should do it. I'm to the point now of where I'd be happier if he fought a bum in between now and June even though that would be bull**** too since Cloud is calling him out.

If you keep picking fights you can't win Iceta your are going to keep getting e-ko'd in every thread you know....but why should Dawson go down? it is never the obligation for any fighter to go up or down in weight ever. So if Bute or Dawson isn't willing to make the physical adjustments to put themselves at a disadvantage I don't blame them if they never fight.

I understand that, but Dawson claims he can make 168 easily. This would be a realistic fight if he doesn't want to fight Tavoris Cloud. The point of my thread is that it is ridiculous that he's gonna wait a full eight months to get back in the ring with a fighter who is recovering from an injury. It looks like a ***** thing to do, and it makes it look like he doesn't want to fight a guy who is healthy. And this is relevant regardless of whether or not Cloud or Bute are better than Pascal. Which I think they are.

I generally think a 9 month max is ok for a top fighter to be inactive. I like a top fighter to fight every 5 months and 8 months is pushing it but its not so long that he deserves to be scrutinized for it.......he will fight Cloud when Cloud makes that fight make $ense

Hopefully this new wave of prospects like Porter, F Guerrero, and Mike Jones carry the sport better than what Khan, Juan Ma, and Dawson are doing.

You have never explained what Dawson has done wrong other than beat the best opponents he could......he is slowly cleaning 175 out.

I agree. But does that mean that there's not more to do? I'm just saying that eight months of inactivity when you have a TV contract is ridiculous. And I'm sure that even some of Dawson's biggest fans would agree.
