Because most people on boxingscene don't know the difference between "close fights" and "Robberies"

Just compare between that fight and Winky Wright, he maybe threw almost half the punches as he did in that fight and it was because he did not have a stationary target to hit and had to go after him.
One thing I noticed is that whenever WIlliams got inside and tried to smother Martinez with his workrate, it was very easy for Martinez to disrupt William's flurry whenever he decided to throw. Most of the fight Martinez wasn't throwing when he was in close range with Williams though. All he needs to do this time around is just show just a little more workrate whenever he is in close range. He should still keep his distance IMO and do what he did in this fight, only a little better this time around.

Williams should fight the same way as he did, but just be a little more precise and not get discouraged like he did. It would also help him out a lot if he learned how to beat that counter-right hand that Martinez kept catching him with. That **** really ****ed up William's plans lol. I don't think he ever faced a counter-puncher like that before.

Of course he was robbed, one judge gave him only one round so there's no way he could have won that fight. How is he going to win a fight with only one round in the bag...you tell me.

The fight turned out very good for it being sort of short notice. If they had a full camp to prepare for each other both would be able to execute their game plans better especially now that they know what to expect.

You gotta admit though. The HBO highlights really make you believe that Martinez won just because he had the flashier clean shots and you see Williams off balance a lot.

The same thing happened when they showed the Cotto vs Clottey highlights. They totally made it look like Cotto destroyed Clottey the whole match.

I bet most of these guys that claim it was a robbery didn't even watch the fight. They probably just saw the highlights or are basing their opinions from what they heard.

Oh yea exactly man. Now that they know what to expect they will train with all their hearts and I really believe it's going to be a great great fight to watch with full of excitement, precision and action.

I really hope WIlliams decides to fight Martinez before he fights Pavlik because I don't want him to switch his training routine and train for another style, and then go back and train for Martinez's style all over again. I think that will bring him confusion a little.

I doubt he'll have the rematch before the Pavlik fight, but it would really be great for boxing if he did.

Very close (and great) fight that could have gone either way. I had Martinez winning it, but wasnt upset with Paul getting the nod. Paul was really honest about the fight afterwards and admitted it was close. It was refreshing to not hear the same old "Well its not my job to score fights" bs you always hear from guys.

I had Martinez winning it too but it was messed up that they didn't even get Martinez a chance. If Martinez only had one round in the bag there's was no way he was going to win unless he won like 10 rounds convincingly on the other two judges card.

Yeah the one judge was bought off for sure. Its horse **** that people can still buy off judges in this day and age. But the other scores were fair.
