That is true, but we haven't seen Pavlik in such a fight like he would have with Williams. Paulie is used to fighting at a unreal pace and throwing 80 punches per round from round 1 to 12. I think he would tire Pavlik out a lil bit.

you have no basis to argue that pavlik will gas. nothing from pavlik's history points to him gasing. you are making an uneducated guess.

"doesn't matter, pwill won't be able to hurt him"

Jermain Taylor knocked him down and had him hurt, Taylor who isn't a puncher by any means.
have you even watched JT's fights? JT has good power for about 4 rounds. he is the zab judah of the middleweight divisions.

You never know, If Williams can tire him out a bit, and keep up his work rate, who knows?
anything can happen, but it's more likely that pavlik stops pwill (medium to high probability) than pwill stopping pavlik (low probablity).

Hopkins also stunned him a few times, both guys that stunned him weren't devistating punchers by any means.
I think its safe to say that hopkins is a harder puncher than pwill.

both are hittable, but pavlik's power is what will make the difference

Also, the workrate is too high reasoning doesn't work. A fighter's workrate is effected by what comes back at him. Williams and Pavlik both throw a ton of punches. The only reason Pavlik's output dropped against Hopkins is b/c Hopkins was timing him perfectly and clinching and boxing. Williams just throwing tons of punches will not be enough to offset Pavlik's workrate. They will both throw a ton until one of them begins to land more frequently.

Several months ago, I picked Williams by decision in a similar poll.

But Williams looked vulnerable in his last fight, while Pavlik appeared strong, like he did against Miranda and Taylor a couple of years ago. Williams isn't difficult to hit...

I'm now picking Pavlik by KO.

This is why boxing scene considers you dumb.

Pavlik fights 3 Bums in a row........Lockett..........Rubio.and Espino.

Williams fights Sergio Martinez..thebest 154Pounder who is a slick, VERY fast left hander with defensive skills who Williams had to chase all over the ring..and you base your prediction on that.

I know a little bit about boxing. I finished 5th on BoxRec's PTBF in 2009.

Pavlik hits harder than Martinez, and is obviously more accustomed to fighting at 160.

Do you know why Pavlik had a hard time getting his right handoff vs. Hopkins???

Because Hopkins wouldnt stop punching....and was too fast....Kelly was just covering up and getting punched in the face.

Martinez bends his knees and Martinez's punches come from under. Pavlik stands tall and is one-dimensional. It's much easier to see Pavlik's punches as oppose to Martinez's. The difference is HUGE.

No, it was because the crafty old Hopkins was giving him a lot of angles. Besides, Pavlik was sick that night and had injured his elbow, and he was moving up to a higher weight. B-Hop had been campaigning at 175 for some time, and was much bigger on fight night, about 190 pounds.

Pavlik will KO Williams, and then I'll bump this thread.

pavlik looked sloppy & slow vs espino who was tagging him. what's gonna happen when he faces a bigger pwill who is more active than him?

sergio is one of the few men in boxing to trouble pwill because of his style. pavlik is not one of them.

                      100k on pwill.
