Evans Ashira
Peter Manfreeedo
Bika
Salem
Pudwill
Brewer
Lacy - Hyped by yanks but realy poor
Kessler - Over rated
Hopkins - 75 years old
Jones - 80 years old, look what the aussie did to him
Robin Reid - Split could have gone either way
Eubank - Completely Shot
Too many joke fights. Ashira and Manfredo are Light Middle at best, how they got a shot at a world title is beyond me.
Joe wasted his talent fighting nobodies, pensioners and over hyped bumsComment

I like Calzaghe. Nothing against him but SMW is a bull**** weight division. When I judge Calzaghe I judge him against best in the middleweight division or the lightheavy.
And then he doesn't come close to being the best. When did the SMW division come to be? The late 1960s? That means one can say, that at best, he's the best MW of the last 40 years and I don't think so.
Nothing against Calzaghe. He's good. Better than many haters give him credit for. If he was simply CalSlappy then Hopkins would have walked through his "slaps" and kicked the F**K out of him.
Nonetheless he's not the best of all-time. Not even close. Greb, Monzon, SRR, Hagler to name but a few.Comment

With your explanation, Calzaghe wasnt even a world champion until late because the WBO belt came about in the 90s...
And you not counting the SMW meaning your not even counting the WBO belt, so all the WBO champions like Cotto, Hamed to name a few werent even world champions at the time of their reign and should be erased from the history booksComment

SMW is a division and you gotta follow the rules

Regarding the SMW division. For the most part there are more divisions to give the boxing organizations more money not because it's needed for the sport. I think the SMW division is "bull****" when we, the boxing fans, discuss the sport; not for the boxers themselves. They have to play the game as the rules are set.
Now, purely talking about the SMW division -- is Calzaghe the best ever? Well who do we count? Wasn't SRL a belt holder at the end of his career. Roy Jones was early in his career.
I suppose we only want to judge the fighters when they fought at that weight. (SRL only for the fights when he fought as a SMW) I'll have to look up a list of the belt holders and see where Calzaghe stands. I simply don't think or remember fighters in the "Super" or "Light" portion of their divisions.Comment
