Arum brought him to 2 big fights that could have catapulted Cotto to the Mayweather/Pacquiao and he failed, not anybodys fault but his!!!!
Co-sign, I don’t think Bob couldn’t have done a better job then what he already did with Cotto. Cotto could’ve been with Don King and left for the vultures after Cotto lost to Margarito but Bob kept him on track for an even bigger event in Manny. No shame in losing it comes with the business.

    Peace.

Other than never getting Cotto the fight he wanted the most (De La Hoya) he has done a pretty good job. But Cotto really wanted De La Hoya and even sort of call him out after his fight with Abdulaev but that never came and Cotto lost his chance at it after his loss to Margarito.

Could you imagine the fight that would’ve been? I think unlike the Manny/Oscar scrap that would’ve been more competitive.

        Peace.

No, because Cotto's record indicates a pattern. He'd go from a cupcake to an A-level opponent, and he wouldn't be ready for that A-level opponent. The only examples of where he fought two good fighters in a row were Judah (iffy) and Mosley, then Clottey and Pacquiao. You don't go from fighting Alfonzo Gomez to Antonio Margarito because it can give you a false since of confidence and the not know how of what to do when you are up against adversity. Cotto's resume gets too much credit around here.

But it’s still better than P. Williams resume minus the hype. Oh by the way, how many pay-per view buys did P. Williams do (if any) that can compare to Cotto?

              Peace.

Pretty decent, except for the Margarito fight, that was clearly a bad style match up for him.

I agree but Cotto still took the fight despite how much Margarito was being painted as the welter weight’s division King Kong. Many of the other welter weights wanted no part of Margarito (Floyd included) Cotto did it without hesitation.

                    Peace.
