Should be a lot more competitive that Dawson's last 4 fights against senior citizens (except for the first Johnson fight, which I thought Glen edged.)

Getting in the ring ASAP is more important than fighting Pascal. Dawson can fight Pascal later in the year, he needs to get a fight ASAP because fighting every 6 months is not going to help his fan-base. If I were Dawson's manager I would tell Dawson to fight in March against Tavoris Cloud. I'm slowly becoming less and less of a fan of Dawson.

I'm not excited about this fight. You know why? Because we don't know how much that shoulder injury from Pascal is going to be healed up. It's not guaranteed that he'll be ready for June and he might have to postpone the fight like Pavlik did with Williams and it leaves room for people to discredit Dawson's potential win over him. So why doesn't Dawson take another fight against somebody else? I know his options are kind of limited, but Cloud has been knocking hard on his door, and Bute would be a good fight. Say what you want about Cloud's inactivity, but people need to quit using double standards and giving Dawson a pass for fighting so infrequently.

I would have no problem if this fight was in April, but that's impossible given the circumstances. Oh yeah and Gary Shaw is a piece of ****. Looking back I wish that idiot Tavoris Cloud except that offer from Dawson and HBO.

If this fight happens and IF Chad beat Pascal, people will say that Pascal has a shoulder injury that's why Pascal lost.

In effect Chad will be discredit again.

But i think Chad will edge a healthy Pascal.

I think you need to stick with being a fan of Eddie Chambers if you want to follow boxers who fight often. Tavoris Cloud is inactive as hell too. Nobody is going to get interested in the Lightheavyweight division unless these guys step up.

Pascal is getting surgery on a dislocated shoulder and a broken collar bone, I doubt they would be ****** enough to put him in with Dawson within 6 months. Pascal at the earliest would be ready to fight in November. I would love to see Dawson vs Bute but only if it's at LHW, because I don't think Dawson will be at 100% in SMW which he will need to be against Bute.

i like dawsons style. wasting fights against johnson and tarver rubbed me the wrong way.

I didn't like the Tarver + Johnson rematches either, but in all fairness the Tarver one was a part of the contract. and blame Johnson for the second fight because he was being an absolute cry baby after losing 8-4 on all three scorecards, and went as far as making a youtube video of why he thought he won the first fight.

So why doesn't Dawson take another fight against somebody else? I know his options are kind of limited, but Cloud has been knocking hard on his door, and Bute would be a good fight. 1. Dawson probably should take that original April fight date, as worst case scenario with Pascal is that he doesn't heal up and that June date gets pushed back and Chad keeps waiting. **but staying active vs Cloud or Bute would be a good option for Bad Chad, good point.

2. I can say what I want about Cloud's inactivity & feel it should get criticism because he's wasting his career.

he (Cloud) fought ONE time this year for pete's sake. and had 2 fights last year vs an older Cesar Gonzalez and a no name

you can't call it a double standard because it's a different situation

Dawson didn't wait 8 months in to get his only fight in 2009

and fought twice last year (vs Johnson + Tarver)

it only looks worse for Dawson because he fought the same two guys (Johnson + Tarver) two years in a row

but if you compare the 2 fighters head to head

2 years of Johnson and Tarver beats

2 years of Woods, Cesar Gonzalez and Mike Wood (who is this guy, lol)

Woods beat Glen Johnson in the third fight even though it was a controversial decision. And everbody knows that Dawson's resume was arguably not as good as Cloud's when he got his shot at Adamek. I think Gonzales and Woods are better fighters than Ian Gardner and Eric Harding. And if Dawson sits out a whole eight months to base his schedule around an injured guy, it looks like he's ducking Cloud.

Woods might be a better fighter, but keep in mind Tarver dominated Woods and I'd think Dawson beating Tarver

is better then Cloud picking up scraps so to speak.

**and if I recall correctly, the last time I read a bit regarding Cloud-Dawson, Chad had the IBF title and if I recall wasn't it Cloud who turned down an opportunity to fight on the undercard which qould set up a fight with Dawson

**to add to that, I also recall reading HBO not wanting to pick up a Cloud fight, which is why he wound up fighting on ESPN

it's a bit much to say Chad's ducking him when the fight hasn't had enough opportunity to happen on it's own

and one hurdle being the Tarver rematch for example

but if Cloud keeps winning, he'll surley get his shot .... as not many big names are at 175. Tavoris is fun to watch and has a belt, he just needs 1-2 more wins
