I think Martinez had 17 days........Considering Paul struggles with southpaws...that was a lifetime.

Paul was training for Pavlik....and he pulled out..so they switched their whole training camp around from righties to lefties and had 17 days to prepare for Sergio...they called Quitana up and he helped out for about a week or so....

Cotto is with TOP RANK boxing is full of politics and you should know that. Especially if you are going to be hosting a show about boxing....Cotto fought the people who were top of his division and relivant. Williams jumping from weight to weight and not having a title or bringing money to the table makes him not relivant my friend. Cotto took other tough fights. Lenoard fought Hagler, Hearns and Duran in the process he did not fight Arron Pryor does that mean he ducked Pryor? No it means he took on 3 out of the 4 toughest opponent out there for him at the time. It means there might have been more of a demand for a fight between Lenoard and the opponent he did choose to fight. As a fighter there is always one more challenge every fan wants to see you take on you just can't fight every tough fight or you wont be fighting for very long. Williams needs to stay at 154 or 160 and stay busy stay on HBo and stay winning fights and giving us great fights like the one with martinez and the money will follow him. Especially at 160 right now there is no one there besides Williams and Pavlik so he is gonna get his shot at the title there....He needs to forget about the WW's and move on to the things he can reach. Cotto moving up to 154 we may still get the fight you are talking about....Lefty

Because he didn't have too he was taking the tough fights at 147 against TOP WW's. Williams was the one calling him out he did not need to call Williams he did not need Williams Williams needed him....Cotto's career was managed smart and he eventually got himself in the mix for the TOP P4P spot with Pacquiao while your boy was stuck fighting Phillips and Kolle with out a weight class to call home a non factor in the WW's by his own fault for changing weight classes like he changes underwear....Take you P Will goggles off and realize he took himself out of the picute. Even with pavlik he fought Martinez what two weeks ago and Pavlik is fighting this Saturday why not wait a week or two and see if the fight with pavlik coudl have happened might have been on PPV rather the HBO and he might not have got the snot knoced out of him by Martinez either....Lefty

He didn't duck Williams, he fought tough opponents who brought more to the table. Neither Goosen or Williams ever made any real attempt to fight Cotto, they simply called out Cotto's name.........along with Mosley's, Margarito's, Pavlik's, BHop's, Clottey's, Jesus', Moses', *****, etc.

To be honest bro, nobody is scared of Paul Williams, he just isn't a big attraction yet. In a few years, he could be. But based on his performance against Martinez (which he did really good in), The Most Feared Man is the last thing I'd be calling him.
