it was short notice. i don't remember how much short notice though. If i remember correctly the hamed fight was offered on short notice, which makes sense you said he was offered the fight after hamed opponent pulled out.
but you are right I am a huge Marquez fan and you have to make the most of the opportunities given to you. If he would have gotten in the ring with Morales he certainly would have held his own
but without question resume wise he ranks behind Morales and maybe just right behind mab or tied with him
considering Marquez beat mab and out did him with all there common opponents but mab does have a win over Morales and naz
plenty of time for a short training camp at least though.Comment

you can say marquez won all you want. i don't give a **** today. everyone saw the fights. everyone can judge for themself.

not true at all.Comment

I love that I can debate this **** in a robust way w/ some Pac fans and they don't lose their **** and turn it personal.
You Mak and Naestro.
Though, others are pelting me w/ red kaye as we speak...

His claim to fame is getting knocked down 3x & not losing & drinking piss.
Getting a draw & losing a close decision vs pac is the best thing in his resume.
Pacquiao made him.
I hope Juan at least sends Pac a christmas card this month.Comment

you goddamn pinoys just started to watch boxing after pacquiao beat a shot, weight-drained dlh, dont act as if you know anything. wtf you talkin about, jmm don't duck no HoF's or big names, big names duck jmm, he beat that overrated fanny pac and he had him on ***** street (he got KD'd and walked to the opposite corner tho, but who the **** cares, stunning someone is more impressive than a huge KD, you guys don't kno boxing)! jmm is the true p4p king!Pacquiao fought him twice. They would have had an immediate rematch if Marquez hadn't turned down the fight because he didn't want to split the purse 50/50 with Pacquiao.
Barrera fought him once.
Morales offered him a fight after the Barrera rubber match , Marquez turned down the fight saying he needed to be paid more. Pacquiao took the fight instead.
Hamed offered him a fight when one of his opponents pulled out of a fight , Marquez turned it down again saying he wanted more money.
That is all.
seriously tho, i doubt jmm blatantly ducked morales, hamed, etc. at that time, i think it was more about nacho overrating his own fighter's marketability and fan base. jmm is a great boxer no doubt, but let's not get carried away and start spreading stuffs about big names ducking him... he just wasn't worth what his management wanted in terms of purse split back then.Comment
